Brand New (http://www.absolutepunk.net/brandnew) have updated their myspace page (http://myspace.com/brandnew).
In keeping with tradition, there will be a limited number of lithos available on this upcoming tour. This time there will be a new poster design for each time a new band enters the tour...each design will only be available at those shows and will cycle out when the new band joins. Only 25 of these lithos will be sold each night. The first design (for shows June 20th - June 23rd) is up on BN's myspace and we will continue to post new ones as the designs come in!

point taken, but pinkerton was a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release (people smartened up later though), so it made a little more sense for them to go into hiding. it just seems like such a waste of potential for brand new to disappear like this after being named rolling stone's artist to watch in 2003 and reigning atop the emo scene for a good 3 years now.

Ok so we've heard from the fans who do not admit that they're fans who are pretty much just fed up with supporting the band and we've heard from the people who think people should know better than to support a band like Brand New, and we've heard from those who are still supporting. have we heard from the people who criticize the critics yet? I lost track after post twenty. I'm just playing role of the guy who points out all the different categories of people and I do that because I'm a fan and I like analyzing things like this to death. :D At least Brand New is still around. Personally, I think they're artists as musicians and they can do whatever the hell they want. Promoting lithos? That's cool as hell. You know how hard it is for printmaking artists to get work sold. I'll wait forever but there's plenty of music out there to tide me over.

haha i bought mine at the very beginning. it was such a hassle holding it, i must have dropped it 3x throughout the show. every single time i was lucky enough to retrieve it from the floor (which was dark and full of people's feet). it was crumpled by the end of the night, but oh well... it's still hanging proudly on my wall.

While it's easy as fans to be frusturated at the amount of time elapsed since Deja was released, it should remain simply that: frusturation. No need to smash windows over impatience. What all Brand New fans should be smashing windows over is that this band has left their fans in the dark about just about everything they've been up to the past 2 years. If there is something wrong, let your fans know. If there are label issues, let your fans know. If personal issues have affected the proccess of the album, let us know. And not even in grotesque detail. Simply say "hey...this may take a while...shit...." If there is simply nothing wrong, let your fans know..."things are just running their course...don't shit yourselves....nothing is wrong...just wait." Grr.

But come on now, if your band wrote a record like Deja, you'd have a hard time following it up too. Imagine the pressure BN must be under. I can totally understand why it's taking so long. I just wish someone would give us alittle more than some cryptic messages, and the like.
