Landen Falls (www.myspace.com/landenfalls)' van exploded (literally) while they were driving from St. Louis to Dallas after the first show of their month long June tour. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, but the band lost all of their musicial equipment, the van (obviously), wallets, iPods, and a ton of person belongings. Hey, this is Dan from Landen Falls. We were were driving from St. Louis to Dallas after the first show of our month long June tour. We just bought this van three days ago. It was about 4am and we had been driving from St. Louis since 10 45pm. We noticed a smell of like burning rubber and it was getting worse so we pulled over to check it out on the side of the highway. I (Dan the drummer) got out and looked and saw fire pouring out from the wheelwell and the hood. Quickly I jumped in and got what money i could from the dashboard and ran to the back and we got our musical gear out of the back and threw it all over the side of the highway. Just after we got the last of it out, there was an explosion in the van. The whole thing was engulfed in flames, 15-20+ feet high lighting up the Oklahoma night sky. We lost walltes, Ipods, drum heads, pillow, PS2, 30 dvds, 10 games, hundreds of dollars of food, baseball gloves and bats, hats, tv, power converters, money, shoes, among other
things. We are trying to find some way to get a trailer and a van or something so we can get home at least but hopefully back on the road and touring. The tow people ripped us off with rates to get all our gear and us from the highway to the hotel. We appreciate any help we could get in getting back on our feet. We are lucky to all be ok and to have gotten most of our musical gear from the van and some of our money. Our paypal account is Dan_the_man_2112@yahoo.com if anyone wants to help contribute but we feel bad having to take help from others but would be extremely grateful. We do not want to let this ruin our tour or plans, as this is all we want and want to make it happen. We appreciate you taking the time to look at our situation and consider posting something about this to help us. We dont know what we did to deserve this to happen, we went to church yesterday, we have played many benefit shows to help others, etc. so we dont understand this karma. Hopefully things
work out for the best and we can get back on the road as we arent letting this dash our spirits.
