Considering it is completely based on opinion and you're just waiting for them to respond so you can laugh via the interweb thinking you are full of win?

And..

probably New Junk Aesthetic.

If not, you're a pussy.

lol actually, no. way to totally contradict yourself though...this is a forum, this is based on opinion, yes. i asked the kid what he thought was his album of the year, right. also, thinking someone is a pussy because they like more complex and in-depth music over "hardcore" just makes you look like a complete dumbass. nice try trying to make yourself look like a badass and "full of win" though.

overrated? they barely get any attention on this site. its the complexity/originality of their music and the talent of the musicians that impresses people. they sound different then the other bands that all sound the same on this site.

it definitely takes a few listens, theres so much complexity in their songs that you need to listen to them many times to really get a grasp on everything thats going on.

I listened to the gin war and was really impressed, which is kind of unusual on a first listen, i'll have to check out the whole album at some point this week.

Another thing that sticks out to me about this album is the energy stemming from live recording, a feat given the complexity. Single takes, no pitch correction, no auto-tune, just talent and chemistry. Add some overdubs for a bit of atmosphere and you've got this wonderful balance between ambiance and organicism. Sure, some bands/genres call for albums to be built piece by piece, but RX are making a great statement about how to make a genuine album. And while it has it's pop sensibilities, it's definitely meant to be sat down and listened to.

I think Kingprince is solid, lots of great tunes, concise in its simplicity. It wears a bit thin at the very least, but I need to spend more time with it. It'll have a comfortable spot on my end of year list.

Don't like RX Bandits. Cassino released a great record.

And complexity =/= good. Not taking away from Mandala, just sayin.

I haven't listed to Cassino extensively, but Mandala most likely beats their album in my book, it's so good.
