Yeah, I know this is not "punk" or "music" or whatever, but according to Iraqi officials, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most wanted insurgent in Iraq, is dead (http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/06/08/iraq.al.zarqawi/index.html).

this is very, very good. The future of peace and stability in the Middle East and that of the world depends on whether Iraq squashes this insurgency and becomes fully democratic. Whether you were for the war or against, you should agree to this.

I'm glad you clarified. For a second I thought you were bringing us Victory's newest signing, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
I was about to get down to some great Middle Eastern Pop Punk.

Anyone catch the interview with Nick Berg's dad this morning on Fox News? His son was beheaded on TV supposedly by Al-Zarqawi. Man, that interview did not go for Fox News at all. The guy tore apart the administration and actually said he had forgiven Zarqawi a long time ago.

No you shouldn't. For one thing, the Middle East (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_east) is much much larger than just Iraq, and there are many more conflicts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_east#Conflicts) going on there than you know about (proof of this lies in the fact that you think this one guy's death is going to make any sort of impact). And secondly, blindly agreeing to another person's opinion despite your own beliefs is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Don't tell me what I should or shouldn't agree to.

Every time the US kills a "terrorist" ten spring up in his place. This is not a step toward peace. Iraq is a worse quagmire than Vietnam was in the 60's. Over 38,000 innocent civillians have been killed in the Iraq war so far and now the Iranians have a viable nuclear program (which Iraq never did). Will the world be a better place when we start killing Iranians as well?
oh come the fuck on, how can anyone see this as anything but good news? is the iraqi insurgency going to end because of this? fuck no, but they just lost a very powerful leader who had been effectively focusing this insurgency. i don't think killing bin ladin and zawahiri is going to end al qaeda either, but i doubt we'd be seeing anymore planes flying into buildings and killing thousands of people after that. whether we should or shouldn't be over there is irrelevant in this particular issue. with zarqawi out of the picture we'll see lower body counts for innocent iraqi civillians and american soldiers (and let's not turn this into a haditha debate. i'm as disgusted by that as anyone).

We're there. Get over it. It sounds like no matter what progress may be made there, you will always look at it negatively. You must be a very pessimistic person. What a depressing life.

on top of our list? listen dude that doesnt mean shit. Taking out one leader is going to make literally know difference, terrorist leaders are easily replacable. And fuck no, no one shoould submit to the idea "well we are over there now so what can we do" that type of thinking is fucking stupid. Im glad nearly 40,000 Iraqis died on account of a terrorist act that had nothing to do with them.

your world is the same as it was yesterday and today with or without this guy. but i'm pretty sure a lot of people in Iraq were affected in a negative way. that must be why they were applauding when they found out that he was killed.

i'm just not down with you sitting here calling everyone elses opinions "stupid" or calling them an "idiot" for what stating what they believe in. your thought process isn't always right my friend. as we can all see by the way that you spell.
That is quite mature to point a mistake and ignore the whole dicussiong, really well done.
Especially when he turns around and tells the person who misspelled "civilian" that their statement was "well put." Looks like someone lets their personal beliefs get in the way of his job with the spelling police.

Either way, we shouldn't be there.
I know, like we shouldn't pursue justice, you know. Like going after rapists is such a stupid idea because people will still continue to rape. We should just end all authority here and in other parts of the world because crime will never stop.
/sarcasm off.
Of course we should be there. Justice is a good thing. Regardless of where you fall on the terrorism issue, America is doing a completely humanitarian thing.
We've taken out this guy, Saddam, given freedom to 25 million people that were living in oppression and completely enriched their lives. Millions of people have less fear in their lives today because of what we've done. If you think that's a waste of time, very simply put, you're wrong. To have the ability to do a good thing, and then not to do it, would be completely evil. And that's essentially what you're suggesting.

I always thought the war on terror was much more than the response to those involved in 9/11. Am I wrong?
