Johnny Cash's final album will hit stores next month. American V (recorded with producer Rick Rubin), is set for a July 4th (http://www.absolutepunk.net/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=842&day=2006-7-4) release date on Lost Highway Records.

Hm, I never thought of him like that. I always think of Bob Dylan as the first true punk, even though he was folk then rock and roll.

When I was still in school, I wrote a paper on the history of punk for my pop music history class and quoted "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" from Folsom Prison Blues as the origin of punk. I am sure I could've gone further back in time but it seemed like a good point when I wrote it. Oh well, still got an "A" on it.

remember when Johnny Cash died and all the scene kids started wearing Cash pins and swearing their undying love? What a bunch of lamers. Sorry, I just don't like country. Respect for Cash though.

all the Cash and Rubin American albums have been pretty special so i would have high hopes for this
