at my school, even though i'm only in middle school, i think that these rich girls are trying so hard to be punk its not even funny. they all shop at hottopic and practically buy the whole store. and apparently, once they hear of a good band from TRL they buy their shirts, like simple plan, g.d., afi, ect. they reli think they are punk and try to prove it by dressin it and goin to hottopic and it reli is sad. but when i dress punk it just doesn't compare to how hard they try. i'm reli tired of it.

Yeah, Dookie was where it was at, I also remember listening to the smashing pumpkins. Oh yeah- cheeze_bunnies, don't know if they teach spelling or anything in your middle school but last i checked "reli" wasn't a word, maybe you mean.. "REALLY"?

one of my friends who really doesnt listen to punk.. hooked up with this guy who calls himself emo and she thinks emo is a person that cares. "he's an emo" hah i found that interesting. she had this list of songs that are "punk" and 2 of them were something corporate songs.. i just smiled and nodded

None of the bands that you've mentioned are "punk." They are very very good tho, no doubt. BUT, punk? Long gone my friends, punk is the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, Anti-Flag, the Vandals, The Clash... ya know? All the more recent bands have mixed pop and punk (hence pop-punk), grunge and a lil 80's rock n roll style. Anyone claiming they are punk.... are the most retarded little hamster shits to have ever lived. Buying a studded belt, some band shirts, bondage pants and chuck taylors doesn't make you a PUNK. Hun, those people at ur school? Go to their huge ass, rich mansions and set them on fire b/c they're all talk and don't know what punk is.

I couldn't stop lauging while reading that. You lump anti-flag in with the sexpistols, cladh, ramones etc. then go on to say that more recent bands arn't punk. Die for your governmt was relesed in 97! Thats pretty recent. I know for a fact that greenday and maybe AFI had albums oyt before then, so by your logic that would make them punk as well.

i remember when i was here in gr 9.... there were 'punks' or whatever you might call it. then 2 years later, (since im gr 11) it all came out. but its only about the look... not the music which pisses me off
