Hey, I'm working on a speech for a contest. The topic is Constitutional Freedoms, and I need to find some stuff about the freedom from search and seizure, mainly its history. Like what inspired it, was it a right that the colonists didnt have, etc.

colonists didnt have it. they could have the poh-poh bust into their house at the wee hours of the night and search around. which is a wrong thing. however, the way the search and siezure has been taken today is crazy. damon stoudamire, of the portland jailblazers, has an extremely nice house. his alarm went off one day. police came to respond to his alarm sounding since damon wasnt home. on his kitchen counter was over a lb of weed. he couldnt be charged because it was illegal search. thats crap. its not like the broke into his house, his alarm sounded and by law they are allowed to enter his house if that happens, but it was illegal. doesnt make sense to me.

and i quote
"the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
every single amendement is fucked up now. its no surprise they couldnt charge him.
it is important we have this amendement, it protects us from developing a secret police system of authority.

They shoulda gone back and got a fuckin warrant. They had a reason.. they should have taken a picture of the weed, that being their reason, gotten the warrant, then gone back and charged him.
