Hey whats up everyone. Not a whole lot going on this week, although the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel looks pretty dope, although you have to wait until 10pm to see it, check it out.

News & Rumors:

Will Smith is attached to star in "Seven Pounds". A story of a man who was trying to commit suicide until he met the woman of his dreams.

Rob Zombie will be writing and directing a remake of "Halloween". While it will probably have some differences from the original it should be interesting.

You can check out the "Transformers" teaser poster here (http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=11664) and has a teaser site up here (http://www.transformersmovie.com/)

Naveen Andrews, Sayid from Lost, has joined the cast of "Grind House" the Tarantino/Rodriguez horror film. He will be joining Rodriguez's part of the film "Planet Terror" which is a zombie flick and will be playing a Military Scientist. The film had be rumored to stop production but apparently that was not the case and "Grind House" is set for a release of April 6th 2007.

FX has ordered the 7th and final season of the Shield, the entire cast will return for 23 final episodes.

Eli Roth has said that the sequel to "Hostel" will focus on three girls who are studying in Italy during the summer who are lured to some familiar places. He hopes to release the film in Jan 2007.

Avi Arad has implied that the "Hulk" sequel might not be a sequel at all but possibly a "do-over" of the first movie.

Fox has closed a deal with Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow to write a script for the "24" movie. They hope to begin filming in spring 07. Sutherland has yet to sign a deal yet but has expressed interest. The Sixth season of "24" will begin filming late this summer.

Robert Rodriguez is hoping to start production on "Sin City 2" in about 6 months.

Rumor has it the Wachowski Bros. are going to be doing the movie adaptation of Speed Racer.

Warner Bros. are releasing a direct-to-dvd sequel of "The Dukes of Hazzard" after all 3 stars have decided not to take place in the sequel. The film is going to be set as a prequel and rumor is that April Scott has the part of Daisy.

After Sony had dropped the upcoming "Hellboy" sequel, it seems to have found a new home at Paramount. And according to Guillermo Del Toro, Abe Sapien will have a larger part in this film.

Amanda Bynes will join John Travolta and Queen Latifah in movie version of the broadway adaptation of "Hairspray". She will star as Penny Pingleton, filming is scheduled for Dec 07

Kate Beckinsale's next project will be "April 23rd" a movie set in the Cold War era about a Russian spy who comes to America and must remain undercover.

There is a rumor going around that Jamie Foxx has been cast to play Bob Marley in an upcoming biopic. While the film won't just focus on his stardom, it will tell his story from the beginning so Foxx will probably not be the only one playing Marley.

Adam Sandler is currently shooting the drama "Empty City" which is about a man who lost his family in the Sept 11th attacks who gets the help of his college friend, Don Cheadle, to cope with his grief.

Another film to catch the wave of "remaking foreign films" is going to be "Bangkok Dangerous" starring Nicholas Cage. The Pang brothers who directed the 1999 original film will direct the American version of the film which is about a hitman who travels to Bangkok to take care of a job only to fall in love with a local woman.

Greg and Colin Strause will direct "Alien VS. Predator 2". No details on the script yet but I would have to say it has something to do with Aliens fighting Predators again.

Woody Harrelson, Stephen Root, Josh Brolin, and Tommy Lee Jones are all signed on to the Coen Brother's dramedy "No Country For Old Men". Set in 1980, the story is about a Texan who is out hunting and finds several dead bodies, drugs, and 2.4 million dollars in cash. After he takes the drugs and cash he then is pursued by an ex-Special Forces agent who is working for a drug cartel, a sociopath, and the local sheriff.

HBO and David Milch have agreed to have a pair of two-hour specials that will serve as the series finale for "Deadwood", no premiere date has been set yet.

Uma Thurman was cast in "In Bloom" an adaptation of the novel "The Life Before Her Eyes" and revolves around a woman whose life falls apart after she survives a school shooting.

Chris Pine is in talks to star in a yet to be titled postapocalyptic thriller written by Alex and David Pastor. The story revolves around four friends trying to escape a viral panademic who discover that they are more dangerous to each other than the virus.

Rumor is the "Bean" sequel will be titled "French Bean"

Hugh Jackman will be taking Russell Crowe's place in the yet to be titled film from Baz Luhrmann. The film also stars Nicole Kidman and takes place during WWII. It is about an English woman who joins forces with a cattle driver against the British after her ranch is threatened by British cattle barons.

The Disney film "Mulan" is getting a live action movie and Ziyi Zhang, girl from Memoirs of a Geisha, will be in the starring role.

20th Century Fox has signed Kevin Bacon to star in "Death Sentence", a film about a father who hunts down everyone in a gang that harmed his family. James Wan is looked at to direct.

Parker Posey, Amy Poehler, and Rachel Dratch are all cast in the comedy "Spring Breakdown". The film sets three thirty year old friends who are trying to escape their boring lives by vacationing in a popular spring break resort for college students.

The "Friday the 13th" remake is still being planned and will be on its way once legal issues are cleared up.

Jessica Alba is taking Lindsay Lohan's place in the indie film "Bill" after Lohan had scheduling problems. The film is a comedy about a guy who comes home to find his wife in bed with a local news anchor, as he tries to rebuild his life he mentors a teenager and eventually falls in love with a saleswoman.

Sony is looking at remaking the 80's horror movie "The Stepfather"

Wayne Kramer's next movie will be "Evil Seek" which is about every 1000 years in Hell they must elect a new Satan, so the reigning Satan must go to earth and take over the body of a mortal and find the most evil person alive to be the next Satan. Thomas Jane will star in the film and it starts shooting in September.

1. Hairspray on broadway was actually a lot of fun, and i think all of the people mentioned fit their roles pretty well.

2. i don't really see jamie foxx as bob marley. but i'll watch this anyway.

3. ACTUALLY, lindsay lohan walked out on "Bill," saying that it was too unorganized or something, and that she was never working with "unestablished" or "independent" directors again.

Disney made Mulan into an animated movie (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14869#) in 1998, but the tale was first put on the big screen in a 1956 Chinese production. The new Chinese-language film's budget is pegged at $20 million, with production scheduled for February.

Damnit.

But what I am doing is starting totally from from scratch. This is the new HALLOWEEN. Call it a remake, an update, a reimaging or whatever, but one thing that for sure is this is a whole new start... a new begining with no connection to the other series. That is exactly why the project appeals to me. I can take it and run with it.

Precisely what he said. It's not exactly a remake, nor a prequel sequel. And to the poster who commented about the message on Rob Zombie's myspace: PAY ATTENTION. It said he wasn't making Halloween 9. If you read the articles involved with this picture, he's stated that he viewed that series as over, and that this is a new chapter that doesn't forget Carpenter's original but it doesn't retread. He wants to make Michael Myers a frightening figure again.

I'm looking forward to Hostel 2. It was loads more fun and intelligent (though hidden) than that Saw drivel.

sweet, new friday the 13th...if its a remake i will hate whoever makes it
if its another sequel i will be happy, i love the series aside from Jason X...but that movie is pretty much thought of as it never happened

rob zombie shouldnt do anything related to halloween either, he would ruin that too

i guess you can gather i hate remakes on classic horror movies
except the texas chainsaw massacre..they did a good job with it, even though it didnt stay completley true to the original

i read some details about the new AVP2 script. apparently the "hybrid" kills the shit out of every predator on board the ship and it ends up crashing on...hold your breath....earth. the first time aliens will put a hoof? on earth's soil. they then torment a texan town i believe, something along those lines. more predators are sent to earth thanks to a distress signal. i don't know, it will probably stink, but i'll pirate it.

Warner Bros. are releasing a direct-to-dvd sequel of "The Dukes of Hazzard" after all 3 stars have decided not to take place in the sequel. The film is going to be set as a prequel and rumor is that April Scott has the part of Daisy.

Why would they waste the money on making this film? Who is actually going to watch it?

Anyways, I would love to see a release date set for The Office season 2. I downloaded all the episodes and watch them on my laptop, but I'd rather be able to see it on my tv. I have been watching the final 5 minutes of the season finale over and over. I don't know if I can make it to September.

dude, Hostel had the classic Hollywood "good guy triumphs over evil" ending which I thought was such a cop-out (at least in the horror genre) and completely unoriginal. At least the Saw series has interesting plot twists to keep the series going and makes the viewer think a little bit.

because it lacks the punch that old classics did
the new tcm was pulled off well, i dont think any other remakes have been pulled off well

hostel made me utterly bored
sure sex in movies is great, but they fucking dragged the sex end of it until it was dead
i did think for the short amount of time they had actual horror it was decent, but it wasnt that much
and then he fucking ran over everyone in the end, what fun is it if he wins

the unsettling parts of friday the 13th, the exorcist, carrie, american werewolf in london is that no one really wins or gets revenge

in hostel he does, what horror is it if he gets away and comes out alright.....im probably the only one that feels this way though

I'll vote for Saw over Hostel, any day.

Also, I think the 'punctuation within quotes' rule is a grammatical mistake. It looks horrid when you say something like: I really like that Brand New song "Mix Tape." It looks better when you put the period outside of the quotation marks. I really like that Brand New song "Mix Tape". I think the rule should have certain exclusions. Dialogue, and such, it should apply to. "An example such as this is fine."

SPOILER ALERT FOR HOSTEL

EXACTLY THE WHOLE POINT! You "got it" though you may not know it. What does the American businessman say to Jay Hernandez (paraphrased)"fucking a different girl every night gets boring". Seeing tits and ass over and over gets BORING. You need more. We need more. So we have to keep upping the ante until we become just like the sick fuckers that have peaked out at killing and torturing people. The point was that Jay Hernandez in 30 years probably would become that businessman that's so bored that he has to keep pushing the envelope. Who's to say the good guy won? If Jay had simply left and gotten away with his morality and values and innocence in tact then the good guy would have gotten away. But he didn't, he killed that motherfucker and despite what we all say or think we would do for revenge, there is something that seperates people that have a regard for human life and people that don't. If you regard human life as precious then you could never kill, even for revenge. and Jay Hernandez may have started the movie with a regard for life but he lost it by the end. A good piece of him died, and he will never be the same for it. I think that it would be very difficult to kill someone with your bare hands (barring the involvement in a fight for your own life or the life of a loved one). I think the good guy lost in this movie.

I also think that Hostel was easily one of the best movies last year. (I think that most people's problems with it is that it was marketed as a horror movie, which it most certainly is not.)

Just add on some more staff to take care of it. Plenty of bored people on the internet. =P

Plenty of people would check it out if it was on AP that would never have bothered to go to another website to hear about it.

I really like these. It'd be sorta sweet if AP had a full out entertainment section, that you could switch over to by some convenient link at the top.

Just add on some more staff to take care of it. Plenty of bored people on the internet. =P

Plenty of people would check it out if it was on AP that would never have bothered to go to another website to hear about it.

i'd do movie reviews :) all i ever do is watch movies.

uhh no wtf

Saw's plot was better drawn out. Hostel never really had much of a plot from the beginning, just a bunch of topless girls that you could see just as easily in a porno, not a "horror flick." Also, Saw creeped me out after watching it. During Hostel, I had to hold back laughter on some parts. (Like where the guys is on the shitter and he gets his fingers chopped off, his throat slit, and then his face thrown in the toilet that he had just been shitting in. Ahh so funny

sweet, new friday the 13th...if its a remake i will hate whoever makes it
if its another sequel i will be happy, i love the series aside from Jason X...but that movie is pretty much thought of as it never happened

rob zombie shouldnt do anything related to halloween either, he would ruin that too

i guess you can gather i hate remakes on classic horror movies
except the texas chainsaw massacre..they did a good job with it, even though it didnt stay completley true to the original

haha, jason x

YAY Vic Mackey is back for 1 more season.

dude, Hostel had the classic Hollywood "good guy triumphs over evil" ending which I thought was such a cop-out (at least in the horror genre) and completely unoriginal. At least the Saw series has interesting plot twists to keep the series going and makes the viewer think a little bit.
there were plenty of plot twists in hostel
and the ending was just satisfying, although i would have liked them to take it one step farther with their original ending of paxton taking the dutch businessman's daughter.

the humor in hostel is there on purpose...

Just a little helpful hint: all periods and commas go inside of quotations.
another helpful hint: that is only true if you are writing dialogue. if it's just quoted text you can put them in or out at your discretion.

Your opinion means shit to me. Hate on SR-71 all you want. It has no effect on me. Not to mention that such outspoken hatred towards homosexuals (which I am not, thank you) is a huge sign of homosexuality within one's self. So, feel free to suck my proverbial dick.

"Will Smith is attached to star in "Seven Pounds". A story of a man who was trying to commit suicide until he met the woman of his dreams. "

wasn't that basically the same thing that happened in elizabethtown?

"There is a rumor going around that Jamie Foxx has been cast to play Bob Marley in an upcoming biopic. While the film won't just focus on his stardom, it will tell his story from the beginning so Foxx will probably not be the only one playing Marley."

No offense to Jamie Foxx because i loved what he did in Ray. But is he going to be hollywood's first choice for a movie with any black person that sings. I heard he was first choice in the Barry White movie they are planning. But they scrapped it because the family didnt like the script.

(I think that most people's problems with it is that it was marketed as a horror movie, which it most certainly is not.)

you make a good point
but i still dont like it or most any new horror movies
im sooo 70's and 80's horror haha
