there's not a lot i can probably do about this..

it just sucks when you and your best friend are after the same guy.

especially when neither the best friend or the guy know you feel that way because she called it first so i keep my mouth shut so nobody's feelings get hurt except mine...

maybe shy or quiet people like me are doomed after all haha

It does suck to be in that situation, I know how you feel. If she doesn't make a move talk to her about it, hopefully she'll understand.

I've never been in that situation. No one likes me, so therefore, I tell myself not to like anyone.

well i guess you can either risk your friendship by going for a guy who doesn't know you like him. does he like your friend? if he doesnt then odds are he likes you.

Well, you have to look over all the levels of this situation.

1. Is she a good friend to you?
2. Would you be willing to give up your friendship for a relationship with this guy?
3. I've been in a situation like this before so I've been where you are. I really think you need to tell him how you feel about him before it's too late.

Helen i wish you'd post more! Are you all healthy now?

Sucks about the guy, but what can you do? I have no idea.

I get into the same situation with one of my friends.

I'll spot a girl, but too nervous/shy to make the move. Then he'll come steaming in, all chatty and pretty and makes his move which usually works.

Damn him.

Dude, way to steal my life. I was good friends with this one girl, Amanda, for a while, that is, until she started dating. Every boyfriend she had she would treat like something special, then drop like a bad habit for some dumbass reason. We both liked this guy, Philip, and I was going to ask him out back in February on a Tuesday. I told Amanda, then she gets her friend Maren to ask him out for her on Saturday...three days before I was going to. Now Amanda and Phil are going out. Amanda won't go anywhere without him and it kills me inside to see them together because I know that could have me in his arms.
