As an actor in "Evan Almighty" I must say this movie is looking to be better than the first. Everyone upon everyone is in this movie.
Steve Carrell of course and Morgan Freeman
John Michael Higgins (The Break Up, Best in Show)
John Goodman
Wanda Sykes (Monster in Law, Over the Hedge)
Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls)
Jimmy Bennett (Hostage, Firewall, Poseidon)
Jonah Hill (Grandma's Boy)
Ed Helms (The Daily Show)
The movie has the biggest budget for a comedy ever: Over 180 million dollars.
There is a ton of improv going on during filming that Tom Shadyac likes and you may see in the movie. For instance, Ed Helms plays a reporter and randomly started talking about different kinds of balls ("There are small ones and large ones, balls that hurt and balls that tickle")
The coolest people to talk to are Wanda, Steve and Jonah. I haven't really bumped into Ed that much but he is nice as well. Lauren Graham is not so nice. She blows off the director sometimes and Jimmy Bennett thinks he's too good for his own shoes.
The story is loosely based upon "Noah's Ark" but there is a twist that I will not talk about.

I thought Bruce Almighty was utter shit. Every single remotely good joke was used in the 2 minute trailer.

I heard about this a while ago. I just don't think it will be very good.

Does it still take place in Buffalo?

everyone upon everyone? sounds like it's mostly a bunch of b and c-list movie stars to me once you get past the main few. it's not like it's sin city or ocean's 11 or anything...sounds like a pretty standard lineup as far as actors go.

I'll go ahead and take Steve Carell over Jim Carrey any day. That's just me though.

No it doesn't take place in Buffalo. Evan has now moved to Virginia and has become a Congressman. The ending of the movie will be a suprise so I'm not going to say. The whole movie since you know its a spin off on Noah's Ark you will be thinking the flood is coming since he has built this ark. I won't tell you what actually happens unless you really want to know.
I will say that Steve is hilarious though. He was messing around and asking if we were hot since it was like 90 degrees, yet he had on a heavy robe and long hair and a long beard and we were like yeah but what about you. He goes to flash us and he's wearing shorts under his robe.

John Michael Higgins is hilarious although he may be a b list or even c list actor
Ed Helms is hilarious as well.

i know they're funny, but you said "everyone" was in this movie and i was just showing that really isn't the case.

I'll see it probably, just because I thought Bruce Almighty was decent.

Jim Carrey is over the top funny
Steve Carrell is naturally funny....I find Steve Carrell's humor funnier than Jim Carrey's

generally, if they take a script that was written as something else, and try to adapt it to a sequel of something, it turns out lame.
this was a script called 'passion of the ark.' had nothing to do with evan almighty. the studio liked the idea, but wanted it to be an almighty sequel. even after jim carrey didn't sign on, they decided to go ahead.
same thing happened with ocean's 12, and that was a piece of shit. same thing's happening with die hard 4. just sucks that not only are they too lazy to come up with new ideas and keep doing sequels. sucks even more that a lot of the times the ideas for sequels come from other places. there's no originality left.
i love steve carrell, but i'll be avoiding this.

yeah...though Steve Carrell has a chance to make a bigger name for himself as a comedic actor
I thought Bruce Almighty was utter shit. Every single remotely good joke was used in the 2 minute trailer. true story...
Oddly enough, Click looks better than both of these movies (Bruce and Evan Almighty). It may be the perfect role for Adam Sandler (or was that Happy Gilmore), since if you've heard his stand-up stuff, it's a combo of cheap and odd humor
