Disappointed me. It was pretty funny and had its moments, but in my opinion comes nowhere near the rest of the Disney/Pixar movies. It lacks that special charm and punch that the others had. Yes it's a great movie worth seeing, but it could have been a lot better. I expected more.
However, the opening short "One Man Band" was freaking hilarious and one of my favorites.
Anyone else see it yet?

It's funny how many hicks were at the theater yesterday. All in all Lasseter should stop trying to be like Miyazaki

One Man Band was amazing!
I agree the movie wasn't up to par with the resy but I still enjoyed it a lot. The end was the best with the drive-in scene.

I probably won't see this because I never go to the movie anymore and whenever I do no one wants to see Disney films. And my brother hates going out and watching movies.

You seriously smoke crack. Find a single studio that puts out more consistently great movies than Pixar. This appears to be the first one that won't be absolutely brilliant, but is still supposed to be great. You can have your Lions Gate films or your Paramount Classics, I'll take my Pixar and be damn happy. Dreamworks is less so, but Over the Hedge was spectacular and the Shrek movies are better than most.

FOCUS! That is not to say that Pixar's films are bad, they certainly are not (except cars looks like shit; Ratatouille looks promising). Pixar puts out a film about once every two years, there is absolutely no excuse for them to put out a shit film.
Dreamworks films are terrible!
Cars is the worst pixar movie. However that isnt sayin much. It was way too long and dragged on and on. When I saw it there was a larry the cable guy fan that though everything matto said was the funniest thing he ever heard.

I was dying at that ending part. Although I think I laughed harder during One Man Band than the entire movie. Oh well, it's still really good.

Yeah I loved One Man Band, I was telling Adam I was kinda sad it wasn't a preview for something.

HAHA what a dumbass. Clearly you have no idea how long 3D shit takes from start to finish.
If you knew ANYTHING about the entire 3D process you never would have made a comment that stupid.

Apologies, let me clarify that: They have no excuse for there to be a shitty story. I know very well that 3d films take a long ass time, but eye candy does not a good film make.

wrong again.
Their movies usually take about 5 years from start to finish, and PIXAR normally spends about 2 years to complete the script.

Seriously. Look at Tim Burton with the gap between The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Corpse Bride, granted, he wasn't working on (only) that the whole time, but still, if you could shit these movies out in a year like a live action one, you'd see them a whole lot more.

Thank You for making my point! Again, No Excuse for turning in a shotty story!

show me one example of a shotty story in a pixar film.

I'd say Cars was a 'shotty story.' It was a rip off of Doc Hollywood.
from IMDB
Benjamin Stone is a young doctor driving to L.A where he was offered a new job as a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. He gets off the highway to avoid a traffic jam, but gets lost and ends up crashing into a fence in the small town of Grady. He is sentenced to 32 hrs of community service at the local hospital. All he wants is to serve the sentence and get moving, but gradually the locals become attached to the new doctor, and he falls for the pretty ambulance driver, Lou. Will he leave?

I haven't seen Cars yet, so I can't say either way. None of the films before Cars had mediocre storylines, in my opinion.

I saw it today and really liked it. It was a very light, funny, kids movie, and it was a break from all of the terrible, over-produced comedies that are in theaters nowadays.
And One Man Band was astonishing.

The first half really, really dragged, but the second half made up for it. I'm guessing you jacked that Doc Hollywood thing from AICN niveK but it was pretty entertaining - I for one love Doc Hollywood, it worked for the movie. My main problem with it is it was generally not funny. One Man Behind totally owned though.

Are you fucking serious? He's named after Steve McQueen you tool. Steve McQueen was the star of the movie Bullit which has one of (if not the) best car chases of all time.
