Hi everyone, I need to make a 'Best of 2009' survey for my school newspaper. I need to think up a couple of nominees and any help is appreciated! Keep in mind that this survey is going out to a bunch of highschool kids (many of whom listen to mainstream radio & are out of touch with the greatness of Brand New / Say Anything / Insert other AP-hyped artist here).

Here are the categories I've thought up so far :

Rock Song of the Year

Pop Song of the Year

Rap / Hip Hop Song of the Year

Best New Artist

Best Movie

Best TV Series

Most Surprising / Memorable Event of the Year

In 2010 I Want ...

In 50 Years, We'll Look Back With Disgust At ...

Thanks !

i wouldnt say clearly....it is a standout track yes, but it isn't a single, it's not on their myspace, it wasn't on the warped tour cd, there's no music video for it, so it's obviously not clearly the standout track.

We won't look back in disgust at anything. People would say GaGa preemptively, but if you look back, artists like her have always been hugely popular and stand the test of time like Bowie, Little Richard, and George Clinton are some of the biggest names in music history. Just don't include that category.

It's a random American high school. Everyone's just gonna put "All Time Low" or "Forever The Sickest Kids." :/

As good as Lost and Mad Men were, Breaking Bad is pretty under-rated still and deserves to be at the top. Such an intense show, and Bryan Cranston plays him perfectly.

And if we're talking comedies? Perfect tie between Curb and Its Always Sunny. Their new seasons were spot on this year.

Seeing as we already do, it will probably some kind of music that comes along in the future even shittier then these guys.

Yikes, I'd hate to think about shittier music then what these guys make.
