So I've been a huge Set Your Goals fan for some time, and last year finally got to see Four Year Strong and was hooked on them too. Any other "Happy Hardcore" bands out there worth checking out?

i actually call this genre "Easycore" just because it was the name of the New Found Glory tour that featured four year strong, a day to remember, and set your goals (on the european leg of the tour). i have a playlist of it with those bands plus the wonder years, fight fair, me vs. hero, hit the lights, international superheroes of hardcore. i also added some bands close to them like fireworks, the swellers. one band not included that i have in the playlist anyway is the movielife because after reading the oral history of the movielife in an old issue of AP i saw that a lot of these bands today especially hit the lights and four year strong are influenced by them

Jesus Christ genres are stupid. Who cares? Happy hardcore, easycore, softcore, melodic hardcore, popmosh, popcore, heavy pop punk, we know what he's talking about. Stop being dbags lol.
As many people have suggested, you would really like The Wonder Years - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TJ5Kjm7bDQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TJ5Kjm7bDQ)
I think you would also like:
Me vs Hero - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPerZlRHK5M
Fireworks - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTW5yWm1sTc
With the Punches - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z_SmyKVgnk
Fight Fair - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8f3EIXsCCI
If you're into these kind of bands you'd love this site: http://xeasycorex.blogspot.com/
It's a blog that uploads all kinds of easycore bands. It's especially helpful for getting new ones and getting cd's of bands that you wouldn't be able to get any other way.

I would love to, but it would probably be another one of those "It's in a bad part of town!" situations again. Unless I can drive by then maybe. A couple of the local bands I saw the other night with Take It Back are opening for them too. Speaking of Take It Back, would they be appropriate to mention in this thread?

that was me, haha. I want to see them too but they're playing in some random ass bar on New Year's Day and I have no idea if it's 21+ or not. Luckily they're coming back later in the month at a legit venue with Maker(o.p. should check them out too), which is nice.

Oh screw that. Why does your grandma care so much. You'll be 19 and you're not one to start anything.
Um, I don't know. They certainly have pop sensibilities, but at the same time, really wear their hardcore influences on their sleeves.

ATL suck but I'd rather listen to them, no contest. at least they have memorable (key word, there) and don't act like a complete joke band with goofy fucking breakdowns. I mean I know FYS tries to be "heavy" but fuck at least there is some sincerity behind it and not trying to be a gimmick

I'd have to disagree concerning how memorable their songs are. I LOVED every single song from the original Settle the Score EP to death. However, I will level with you because in a lot of ways they are very gimmicky. I'd really like to see how things go for them once they release their full-length.

My mom wouldn't be like that. She'd take me to every show I wanted to go to if I had the money and she wasn't doing something that day the show was.
Can't Fight Robots had a more Pop-punk feel to it IMO. Atrocities doesn't really except a few songs.

yeah thats a good album. everyone only knows "bodybag" but "these backs are made for stabbing" and "speakers blown" are great. the lyrics are way better than what they just put out. im glad someone else agrees with me on this one

Not necessarily just that, it's the bigger picture but the vocals do play a factor. Yeah, but Title Fight isn't as rough as Take it Back!. Just take the time to compare them
