I like my Macbook. I would love a Macbook Pro though. I know Macs are meant to last ages and all that, but the news ones are shittons better than my 07.
My daily/work computer is an Apple. But I have an Alienware for fun.

Apple. I have 3 of them and will use nothing else. Costs a little bit more initially but when you factor in the headaches you'll save and the money you'll save from buying spyware/anti-virus software, it's not too bad.

Sony....though I've decided it's pretty pointless to spend as much money as my parents did on my laptop...they aren't very sturdy in my experience (gone through 2 in 3 years), and very hard to upgrade... I personally plan from now on just getting some basic laptop that will just do what I need for class, work etc. and then get a desktop for anything like gaming and whatever else would suck on a laptop.

I had an HP laptop (still do actually) that I used throughout college. I beat the thing to hell with photoshop, cubase, emulators and the viruses hidden amongst them, 3d studio, etc. The thing was by no means designed as a powerhouse but outlasted my expectations and stayed strong and smooth-running. Last year I upgraded to an HP pavillion m9400t and its unstoppable.

Well not entirely, I mean with a Mac you've got your Logic Express(which I need/want) and the Mac OS itself.
I know you could hack the PC to put on whatever OS including Snow Leopard but I'd rather have it on there officially without worries.
Toshiba is a great brand though so no disagreeing from me on your choice.

It even sucks more if you work as a musician and use stuff like audio interfaces...there will always be a problem with the audio drivers and nothing ever works....
I had one and couldn't take it anymore...Just bought a Macbook pro and its not even comparable....Apple rocks, they're more expensive because they're way better and that is why when you walk into a great Recording Studio you never see a pc, you will always see the little apple glowing on the dark!

b) use the proper Operating System for your AI (Windows Xp SP3 lite version works with ANYTHING)
c) DAW compatible with ur AI and OP
this ain't no rocket science!
