just a lot less screaming. more group vocals. two vocalists. still have the hardcore influences in the music.

How is this the worst tour ever...?
so stoked they added an NYC date. I feel like the crowd is going to be so weird though, when I saw FYS on gig life over the summer a lot of kids like 13/14 showed up for just them and were bored during the other bands/left before SYG came on. Then your going to have the people just showing up just for title fight and strike anywhere. this is a really good line up though, glad TTNY got a good tour.

I think they'll play a good 7-8 songs from Rise or Die Trying, Your Song, and 2/3 New Songs....theres only four bands on the tour, so they probably have a good set time compared to the Set Your Goals co-headliner.

and yeah, it fucking sucked. they played an acoustic set somewhere afterwards. we all get to go for free next time.
opening bands:
title fight = fantastic.
this time next year = not bad, not bad.
the bled = FUCKING SUCKED.
maybe, i just don't like their music. but i thought they were awful.
however, all the bands (including the bled) were all about the fans. which was awesome.

Just went to this, was a pretty fun show. Mainly went for Title Fight, but was definitely stoked to see The Bled again (been waaay too long since they have done a proper tour). There were quire a few kids there, the venue kind of sucked. Physically I really like it, it's a small place and had the potential to make for an insane show, but if anyone were to crowdsurf or stagedive they were immediately forced out of the club, another venue ruined by stupid security rules. This made seeing Title Fight very weird because usually during their shows there are a million stage dives. But it was still fun just singing along and listening to them, I think they got a good reaction, this band is already getting huge in the hardcore scene but after this tour I think they are gonna blow up even more. Anyway here is their set:
Memorial Field
Evander
Symmetry
No One Stays at the Top Forever
Loud and Clear
New Song
Western Haiku's
Introvert
Youreyeah
By the way, the new song was really really good, was surprised/stoked that they had new material already.
Hated this time next year.
The bled were awesome, so much fun to see again, always been more of a fan of their older stuff (including found in the flood) but all their releases have been solid. I'm not into them as much now as I used to be, but it was fun hearing some of my old favorites again. The new guys they have seemed pretty good, they were definitely into the music and having a good time, overall I was impressed. Probably not as tight as the old lineup (the drummer was amazing), but most people probably won't know the difference. The set seemed really short was expecting them to play longer but given all their material they did a decent job of mixing it up (probably would have gotten rid or one silent treatment song and added a found in the flood song). But they are definitely the heaviest band on the tour so most won't like them, but it was good to see a lot of fans knowing the words and stuff, I figured everyone would have forgotten about them by now. They are super nice dudes, so try to support them. Here is the set:
Red Wedding (so glad they opened with it)
Three's Away
Shadetree Mechanics
Smoke Breaks
Starving Artiste
Mouth Breather
You Know Who's Seatbelt
Last American Cowboy
I really don't like Four Year Strong and was gonna leave, but I decided to stick around, they were better then most the times I have seen them, but they just aren't my thing, couldn't get into it. Was hoping for a hardcore cover but didn't get it. I'm pretty sure its the same set as posted earlier, I'm sure a bunch of sets will be posted soon so I won't try to come up with one, but I know they played a good deal/ the usual stuff they play off of Rise or Die trying, I'm pretty sure they played a song off the ep or whatever because they said "this is an old one" and I'm 90% it wasn't off of Rise or Die Trying, they played 3-4 new songs that I wasn't really into either but fans of the band will like it (no different from their other material). The cover song they did play was the Semi Charmed Life (probably the only part of the set I almost liked). They did play an encore so expect that. Like I said they aren't my thing, I probably should have left but decided to try to get my $14 worth, if you like the band you won't be dissapointed, but the openers are better so get there early. (Honestly I think the bled should be headlining the tour, they deserve it).

I'm pretty sure it went like this:
6:00 Doors

7:15 This Time Next Year
8:00 The Bled
9:00 Four Year Strong (but probably went on by like 8:45)

I'm not sure how much Four Year Strong and The Bled were selling their shirts for, but Title Fight and This Time Next Year were selling them for $10 each (hell yes!), with baseball tees and long sleeved shirts for a few dollars more. I'm pretty sure shirts didn't go over $15.

Yeah they were selling the grey one at the DC show, I assume they will have it for the whole tour unless it sells out. I think they had 3 other shirts, and one long sleeve also.

The show last night in Ft. Lauderdale was fucking ownage, the only band that didn't really impress me was This Time Next Year. Met James and Josh from The Bled after the show, both really nice guys.
The Bled's setlist was:
Red Wedding
Threes Away
Smoke Breaks
Shadetree Mechanics
Starving Artiste
Mouthbreather
You Know Who's Seatbelt
The Last American Cowboy
I just also want to say Wasting Time is my new favorite FYS song, haha.

Anyone know if Title Fight has changed up their setlist any since this?

I went to the Dallas and San Antonio stops to see The Bled, since they're friends of mine and it's been almost a year since I last saw them. The setlist for both nights was identical to the last two that were posted. I'm not a big fan of FYS, but they put on a good live show. Their crowds were shitty, though. Multiple fights broke out at the Dallas and SA stops. And for fans of The Bled, Robby and Brad both said they're getting an all Rise tour together for the Summer-ish with In Fear and Faith and Of Mice and Men that should act as their CD release tour and to expect more Found in the Flood in the setlist rotation. Robby said that they're working on throwing in Antarctica, Hotel Coral Essex and Daylight Bombings. Oh yeah, and the guys are already working on new material. Brad said that we should expect a new album out of them by next Summer.

this was so fun :)
strike anywhere was great, this time next year great...four year strong awesome!
title fight was terrible experience.
i had two smaller friends who went, and right when title fight came on EVERYBODY just like jumped forward ONTO the people in the front row, including myself, so people were being violently pressed into the stage and just like trampled on. nobody helped ANYBODY and when the staff came to clear it up, the band literally told the WORKERS of the venue (grog shop) to get out of the way and let them do their thing. the band then personally told my friends who had been insanely jammed onto the stage to leave if they couldn't handle the show.
like, there isn't suppose to be a violent mosh right up against the stage and FRONT row.
the crowd was good with all the other bands...big mosh in the middle and first couple rows just slight pushing and stuff...not insane jumping and not even helping anybody up when they get forced down.
plus they tried to be all slow and cool in their songs sometimes...didn't work at all.
but yeah, i think i enjoyed Strike Anywhere's crowd the most. i liked four year strong, but it's just like...CONSTANT fucking moshing the ENTIRE time...like there is more moshing outside of breakdowns than inside a breakdown! strike anywhere had a lot of like passionate lyric people hah. this time next year had tons of jumping parts, and probably the funnest mosh. wasn't too insanely violent but was just fun to throw yourself into.
at the end of four year strong, Maniac and Heroes...the ENTIRE stage was just filled with people haha it was awesome.

kiddo, that's how a lot of hardcore shows are. the guys in title fight are also in bad seed, which is a hardcore band with that kind of following. a lot of their fans cross over. there's a difference between "heavy" bands as you may call them and hardcore bands, ESPECIALLY with how kids treat each other and what areas are considered "safe" at the shows

Heading to the ICC show on saturday, beyond excited. FYS has been my favorite band for a year now and it kicks even more ass that they grew up close to me
Should be a great show, really happy with the setlists for all the bands.
Haven't really listened to strike anywhere but am a big fan of both Title Fight and TTNY. The FYS setlist is rockin', so happy that your song is on there.
Also, I know this question has already been asked but for anyone who has already been to the shows, what kind of merch was there and were they selling all of it after the show?
I will post a review after the show along with a setlist of what I can remember but I'm sure it is somewhat identical to the previous ones.

I'm not saying I have a problem with it...I mean, I enjoyed it a little. But when my friends (who are girls) are getting like almost seriously injured then that's what it starts to get annoying.
Then we must not go to the same shows...because for bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure, Blessthefall, Of Mice & Men, Attack Attack!, and even AUGUST BURNS RED...people have intense pits a little ways back from the front, the front is for jumping and pushing and singing and stuff...not like violent mosh that people don't even pick each other up or have any regard for anybody else...like the stage was only two feet off the ground and people were getting like forced right into the speakers and shit.
I can easily handle it and I'm not saying the front was too much for me...it just wasn't fun.

My guess is it was the fact that the stage was 2ft off the ground. If it's two feet off the ground there's nothing to prevent pushing onto the stage, so you were falling onto the stage. If it wasn't you would just be being pushed up against it. Lots of times there aren't guards to control stuff... Again, if your friends can't handle it that's their problem not the bands and venues.

Man, the pit's not gonna stop for the girls. If they're dumb enough to keep standing there that's there problem. It's not everyone elses problem to not mosh because a girl wont move.

To the dude complaining about Title Fight.... you're young.... you still have a lot to see at shows... Title Fight was the taste of a REAL hardcore show... Emmure, August Burns Red, Attack Attack (lol) are NOT hardcore shows... While I may enjoying some bands like that, they are a totally different experience from a hardcore show. While some of the guys were probably trying to show off or whatever, most were just having fun, hardcore shows are much more intimate than most shows you are use to seeing. I can see Title Fight coming off as a big surprise when seeing them on a lineup like this, but as mentioned before, the guys are very involved in the hardcore scene and have a huge underground following.
But I can almost guarantee you that whatever show you were at was probably a very very tame reaction to Title Fight compared to their usual performances, at actual hardcore shows where everyone turns up, shit goes crazy, some of the roughest shows I have ever been to.
Watch some of this to get a taste: http://vimeo.com/5588892
Its rough, but if you don't think that it looks fun, then you don't have the right attitude towards the show.
I know you were mainly concerned for your female friends, but as mentioned here before (and by the band) if you can't handle it get out of the way. There is no shame in moving out of the way and letting kids have their fun, really what is there to lose? I fucking hate how people now adays try to stake out a spot in the front for the entire show to see only one band.... If you want to be up front for a band... get up front for that band, don't feel like you have to watch every single band from front row... you will get hurt and that isn't anyone else's fault, that is due to your own stubbornness.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful or condescending, just trying to open up your mind, if you liked what you saw at the show (and how awesome the above video is) then start listening to Title Fight... listen to some other hardcore bands (check out Title Fights top friends or something), go to actual hardcore shows and learn about a whole other breed of shows.... While I still listen and enjoy metalcore shows, you gain so much more from hardcore shows in my opinion....

Hey thanks for clearing that up and explaining all of it so well.
I didn't realize how big they were in the underground scene, and that a lot of people probably came to the show JUST for them...I figured they were just like the other bands at the show.
But yeah, the start of the singing on Evander was actually pretty similar to the one you just showed me...that was seriously lke insanee!
It definitely was our fault for not really knowing what was going to happen when they started, I never even knew exactly what hardcore even was before that!
Their crowd was just so unlike any other one we'd been to that it just caught them off guard and they got pretty mad hah, and me, now knowing the whole story...sided with the people against them!
I still think that I prefer the post-hardcore/metalcore shows though...I like the whole tight compacted area with a mosh or two right behind that, so you can switch in and out easily and stuff...but the whole hardcore show experience is pretty interesting, I'll try to see one at Warped maybe!

You won't be seeing anything close to a hardcore show at Warped Tour unfortunately.... well except for the random time Bane played in a parking lot in MA. Oh and when we had the Bridge9 stage with Death Threat in Mass. and kids got pummeled all day. Hardcore has been pretty absent from Warped Tour for a long time. Bands like 7Seconds, Reach The Sky, Sick of it All used to play a lot, but not anymore.

The ICC was really good tonight. The crowd was really cool, only a couple bro dude guys. FYS sounded great and this was the most fun I've had at one of their shows, which has everything to do with the size of the venue. Title Fight was really good. TTNY was ok, they should of been on another tour, I think at least. And Strike Anywhere was a lot of fun. Set lists were on par with whats been posted.

tonight ruled despite me my buddy and some other kids going the opposite way at the Warren St. green line stop and therefore missing Mountain Man and half of Title Fight. awesome show though, and yes the obnoxious bros were at a minimum tonight which was rad. solid show I had a hell of a time.
one thing I noticed is that either the singer from This Time Next Year just likes to sing in a totally different way than on record, or he CANNOT hit those notes. it was awkward. also very surprised that Title Fight got the second biggest reaction of the night. good show overall

that's why even as a photographer i fully encourage concert goers to mosh and stage dive into photographers. if you wanna be part of the crowd, you get treated like everyone else. especially in the hardcore scene, a lot of people try to do photography as a free pass for them not to get hit but still be up front. the trick is to be as respectful of the band and their fans while shooting OR get right in the action and don't care what happens to your gear. I support both

this was so fun :)
strike anywhere was great, this time next year great...four year strong awesome!
title fight was terrible experience.
i had two smaller friends who went, and right when title fight came on EVERYBODY just like jumped forward ONTO the people in the front row, including myself, so people were being violently pressed into the stage and just like trampled on. nobody helped ANYBODY and when the staff came to clear it up, the band literally told the WORKERS of the venue (grog shop) to get out of the way and let them do their thing. the band then personally told my friends who had been insanely jammed onto the stage to leave if they couldn't handle the show.
like, there isn't suppose to be a violent mosh right up against the stage and FRONT row.
the crowd was good with all the other bands...big mosh in the middle and first couple rows just slight pushing and stuff...not insane jumping and not even helping anybody up when they get forced down.
plus they tried to be all slow and cool in their songs sometimes...didn't work at all.
but yeah, i think i enjoyed Strike Anywhere's crowd the most. i liked four year strong, but it's just like...CONSTANT fucking moshing the ENTIRE time...like there is more moshing outside of breakdowns than inside a breakdown! strike anywhere had a lot of like passionate lyric people hah. this time next year had tons of jumping parts, and probably the funnest mosh. wasn't too insanely violent but was just fun to throw yourself into.
at the end of four year strong, Maniac and Heroes...the ENTIRE stage was just filled with people haha it was awesome.
You are such a fucking tool it's unbelievable. I hope you enjoyed the one show you are probably going to the whole year.

Yeah, they played a couple new ones. Did you know Mike from Children of the Night plays keyboard for them now? I wasn't really a fan of the new stuff. They also did a couple Children of the Night songs full band, which were alright. Not too far off from the new Energy tunes. Also did covers of "Pet Sematary" and "Halloween." One day, you're going to look back and facepalm yourself for your bad taste in music. Everyone does it. Luckily, none of those bands have any substantial staying power, with the exception of Silverstein, which IMO, are listenable, at best. Most of them failed to introduce huge innovations to their respective genres or stand out and I guarantee you 3/4 of them will break up in the next year or two.

i did this about a month ago. i still love adtr and i see stars. but half that shit is interchangable. wasted my ears on that for like two year.s
nope.
of mice & men, escape the fate, attack attack!, blessthefall, silverstein, a day to remember, the devil wears prada, bullet for my valentine..
= all of my faves, the best bands in my ears :)
try to prove me wrong that these bands are "worse" than your bands.
not going to happen.
I really can't tell if you're that stupid or just trying to piss me off.....congrats on being a metalcore hipster though because i'm going to take a wild guess and just say you really are that stupid

I love living in a world where someone can't listen to the music they like without being harassed. Get a life and let the kid listen to the music that he enjoys.

aye aye aye.
I'm not going to sit here and bully you and tell you that your music taste is terrible,
but one thing you need to know. Attack Attack are NOT hipsters in the slightest.

let this site sort out what the several different denominations of music culture are for you.

Who has harassed in this thread? Nice job pulling out the life card in your very first post directed towards me! I get the feeling your life really isn't going so great. Why would I not allow him to listen to the music he likes either?

Tell me more about how these scene/emo people. Actually stop being such a tool and know at least one genre that's associated with punk

Lol. My life is fine, actually. Thanks for asking. And you guys were clearly making fun of that kid for listening to a genre of music that you don't particularly like. Don't even try to make it seem like you weren't.
Edit: I realize I fucked up with the quoting, but I don't really care because I'm drunk.

If you were listening to all of those bands before they were popular, props. But I guarantee you that you jumped on the bandwagon because some kid at school showed you a Rise Records band that gave you a halfie and you had to listen to a dozen other bands that all sound the exact same. How can you kids stomach listening to 20 bands that all sound the exact same? I love Converge, The Bled, Botch and Coalesce, but I'd rather rub my dick in broken glass than listen to 20+ bands that all sound relatively the same all the time.

haha thanks, though them hating isn't like...preventing me from listening to anything. but yeah, people hate so much...it's alright though...it really doesn't effect me negatively in any way!

and i've really listening to all of this stuff on my own. i don't even have any emo/scene friends really, and i'm not really emo/scene aside from the way my hair and black shirts/jeans that i wear! most bands do sound the same unless you actually get really into them though. like i could tell you major differences between escape the fate, blessthefall, of mice & men, attack attack, etc.
though i was most definitely a fan of of mice & men from the start, when they had only a hundred or so myspace friends.

I really don't want to wait until warped tour to see them again. Especially because I wanna hear these EOTW songs live.

Please quote me where I asked you how your life was going? You read the word "life" in my post and immediately feel your e-rep is threatened so you say the first thing that comes to mind, adding a "lol" to the begginning to make it seem laughable that your life is anything but perfect. Nothing beats posting on a message board drunk on a Friday night.
I'm not sure what your definition of harassment is but I could only see someone being that offended by a few criticisms if you've been bullied and made fun of your whole life. Of course I'm sure you've never been made fun of before cause you have that perfect life going on :-d
I'll continue to make fun of any people that have never payed under $15 to go to a show and continue to support terrible bands doing nothing for their respective music scenes.
So does anyone on this absolutepunk website even listen to punk? Or does everyone just go to the nearest hot topic and buy their music taste there?

You hit the nail right on the head with that one. My life is perfect and nothing can go wrong, that is exactly what I was implying.
Anyways, "harassed" was probably the wrong word choice on my part, I'll give you that. I just get annoyed when people bash other people for the music that they listen to (with the obvious exceptions of Brokencyde, Millionaires, etc.). But whatever.

i have a secret hope that they'll reschedule it at the end of the ETID tour, and they'll headline with trapped under ice, polar bear club, and every time i die opening.
although i want to see title fight again.
