Metallica-Icons?

Ok, I just saw this thing on MTV2 about Metallica being icons. Just wanted to know what everyone else thought.

whether you like the band or not, you have to admit that they have had a profound influence on all musical scenes, have helped to poularize heavier forms of rock music, and have inspired countless bands of equal or greater influence. whether or not the impact is direct, masny of the bands discussed in this forum would not exist without metallica.

They definitely deserve the honor fo having their music bastardized by a bunch of shitty bands.

Honestly the only halwfay decent band on the playlist (besides metallica themselves) is Korn. And i cant even stomach more than a bit of Korn's music at a time, its more on the lines of i respect their creativity, skill, and musicianship then being a real fan of the band.

ans korn sucks and has no talent, especially their fat miget bassist who think hes a rapper and never really learned how to play bass correctly.

im not a big metalica fan, but they do deserve the whole icon thing. they have been around forever and made so many albums and have so many fans everywhere. they inspired a lot of music and for that you have to give them credit

i know that. although nofx's good cds were from the 90s, the others best CDs are from the 80s.

what does that have to do with anything though? i said the 80s were cool, i dont know what your arguing or saying?!
