what a stupid interview
I don't like Tom, and I don't like his band. The interview was an interesting concept, but kinda sucked.

It's cool that Mr. DeLonge has found something he really cares about, but it's too bad he comes off like a pompous prick every time he does an interview now.
Lennon didn't get shot for challenging the war, he got shot by a crazed fan, cuz the guy was CRAZY!!!
And this "Dancing With Myself" cover I have, disagrees with the fact that Tom has only been a part of three cover songs in his life. Oh well, he's allowed to make a mistake from time to time.

dude i'm so with you.....i mean i like "We Don't Need To Whisper" but i can't fucking stand reading about the 'new' Tom Delonge. When you hear the "HI My Name Is Mark" podcast you realize who changed to make the whole Blink thing go down hill. I bet I'll be way more in to +44 because of it too....

Yes, it really is too bad he finally started acting his age and stopped talking about fucking dogs in the ass. Such a tragedy.

the hilarious part about the whole interview...is that tom didnt know what he was talking about when it came to U2
Tom: I think The Unforgettable Fire was my first U2 record. "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "With Or Without You" are two of the greatest songs ever.
"where the streets have no name" and "with or without you" were both on Joshua Tree
its pretty simple. anyone that is a U2 fan...like he he said he was...would know this
well.. ive had american idiot (and the live one) since they came out and i havent heard them either... but i was never a big green day fan
(i got them as promos)

I've never really been a huge U2 fan, but I always thought that was somewhat common knowledge when it comes to music.

Yeah, his brother is in Iraq right now, but I haven't really heard anything else.

tom is a pathetic liar. 3 covers? i have the jan and dean cover, and the idol cover. plus, everytime they played dammit, they covered something in the bridge. and as for the u2 comments, he is an idiot.
i love the fact how he has never heard american idiot. he has hard feelings about greenday being a better live show than blink at the pop disaster tour.

i love how he's been quoting as saying he's not into led zeppelin and pink floyd, and then goes ahead and says they 'dived into a pink floyd sorta world.' i practically used to worship him, but this guy has no idea what he is talking about.

just because he said that was his first U2 album it doesnt mean he had to list songs directly off that album. I think he was just generally saying he thought those two U2 songs were the greatest, regardless of album.

it is, the joshua tree was U2's big break and everyone who at least knows of U2 know those songs are on that album... i think tom may have said that to make him look cool like 'yea i listen to U2, thats why AVA is so good..." well tom "your best friend is not your girlfriend" is something that im sure bono couldnt have wrote

haha, yeah. he's probably still bitter about the fact that green day butt fucked blink in that kerrang! interview where they went on about how they played blink off the stage every night.

I remember going to see that show, I thought they were both good - except I dont know why green day would think that Yelling "WHOAAAAAA' for 45 minutes of the god damn set means you played better. Blink had a better reception at those shows anyways.

i disagree. blink is my favorite band ever, but everyone i know who went to pop disaster (myself included) thought green day blew blink away on that tour.

Yeah, blink might not have played better, but Green Day's stage "antics" are pathetic. Between the WHOOOAs, the "ah one, ah two, ah one two three fours," and Billie Joe mimicking the Jesus crucifixition, I was about ready to leave.
