View Full Version : The new Rise of Hard/Glam/Hair-Rock?!
OMG.
Did any of you guys notice the new trend on Hard/Glam-Rock & Hair-Metal?
There are plenty of Bands, that recently start looking like a Moetley Crü Cover Band, also having at least 1 Nikki Sixxx Hair styled Guitarist who sticks out his tongue at least once a video..
Most of these Bands have NOT been like that from the beginning...but now..it's slowly starting again..just so mention some:
-Escape the Fate
-LoveHateHero
-Black Veil Brides
-...
Those bands can be noticed by:
-At least 2 Members with the Hair of Nikki Sixxx
-guitarists that love showing their tongue
-sensless guitar-solos
-strange movements by guitarists and bassists (shaking their bodies in a strange way)
-Drummers wear sunglasses
-Lead singers with leader-jackets
The Best examples are (just look at the mentioned points above..you'll see them in those videos):
-LoveHateHero - America Underwater (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaDxf7PIDgE)
-Escape the fate - the flood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfO0TjJrTEU)
So..after Emo, Deathcore, Pop-Punk & even Crabcore...will this be the new trend the scene is moving towards?

Won't lie, I love me some hair metal. But if these are the bands bringing it back, no thanks.
:D and it's not like old hair metal.
They are mixing it with everything the scene has to offer :D

I enjoy glam metal/hard rock but these bands are hardly bringing it back. Wearing leather jackets and sunglasses doesn't make a band hard rock, and neither do guitar solos.

Steel Panther is the only band that matters ever.

Yeah, they're a parody 80's glam metal band that's been around since 2000. Their vocalist was in LA Guns.

Dude on the right with the Operation: Mindcrime shirt fucking rules.
I just think the obvious similarities in the videos of Bands like the new Escape the Fate, LoveHateHero or Black Veil Brides..are just hilarious :D

Only good band that takes influence from this genre has been Steel Panther, all of the ones you mentioned just do a really bad rip off of looking like them.

Lovehatehero is actually a pretty decent band. Not great, but better than some of the bands they're being compared to. And how can we forget Blessed By A Broken Heart. They're exactly like what you're describing.

Was gonna say that about Lovehatehero, White Lies is a really good album.
The Morning After are a pretty ridiculous band.

JERK!
So you want to deny that there was/is a trend on pop-punk in the last 2 years? With pop bands as All Time Low, The friday night boys, hey monday etc...
?
i was not talking about real pop-punk bands as blink, green day or saves the day
they're not trend
the others mentioned up there..definately ARE

The bands you first mentioned aren't even pop punk bands. And Green Day is the best of the 3 you listed after that- Saves The Day is hardly pop punk anymore and Blink 182's last release wasn't pop punk at all.
Read OP post saying: no genre discussions now please.
It's all about the Moetly crü fake bands here.
;)
faux-thrash is better than faux-glam.
