hah im doing an essay on Pres. Woodrow wilson
so far i have this
Thesis„³ Due to past presidential actions, such as, Washington's farewell address, Monroe's doctrine and Roosevelt's big stick policy, Wilson could not have prevented his failure.
Argument 1
„h Washington¡¦s Farewell Address in 1796 contradicts Wilson¡¦s dream
„h Washington states that Americans should stay out of European Affairs
„h He was a greatly admired man whom people looked up to
„h Americans follow Washington¡¦s statements
„h He also said to avoid permanent alliances
„h Wilson states in his 14 points that he wants to become friends with Russia
Argument 2
„h In 1824, President Monroe creates the Monroe Doctrine
„h Main point was for Americans to also stay out of European affairs.
„h But the west hemisphere was off limits for Europeans.
„h This is the second president who clearly states that America does not need to be involved with Europe
Argument 3
„h Theodore Roosevelt had thought up of the ¡§big stick¡¦ diplomacy
„h He said that U.S had the right to police the Western hemisphere
„h The basic deal with the ¡§big stick¡¨ diplomacy was for them to use the threat of force, but not physically force the countries
The thing is that i dont know what else to say for the 3rd argument
if anybody wants to help, ta ht would be really nice
