I'm a pop-punk fan who wants to start getting into Forgive Durden, Brand New, and Say Anything, just to expand my tastes. I only have YFW by Brand New, but what songs/albums would be good to start with?

listen to Brand New's Daisy. You'll be surprised... they are the same band.

I listened to it, and they are definitely a changed band. Their newer sound is nice, but Jude Law is one of my favorite songs ever

Guernica is a good crossover song from YFW to deja. Same goes for the archers bows have broken going from deja to DAG

though if you want to expand your tastes, you should listen to something other than pop punk

Haha.
Honestly if you're a pop punk fan, look into Richard Hell & The Voldoids or The Modern Lovers. Or for a more modern take on the sound, The Thermals. Not a big fan of the genre myself but there are far better acts than what you've listed. Posters like kearn1tm could certainly help you out with starting points as well as other artists you might be interested in.
Don't limit yourself to AbsolutePunk-approved music. ;-)

Or at the very least confine them to lush pop-punk pastures. Start slow, with some Comus or something, and then transition into wildly subversive and challenging material such as Say Anything's oeuvre.

Didn't like Gatsby's Volcano at first. But one day I tried listening again, and it hit me hard. Awesome record.

If you want to get into those artists go to their Myspace or Purevolume and listen to some tracks. If you like them, buy the albums. Scan the boards and threads a little bit, and you'll find out what the majority of people here like, but find what makes you click, not what others like.

YFW is in my top ten albums ever, every track is so damn catchy, listen to the whole thing
Just click through sites like Purevolume and you´ll find enough interesting stuff.
Or get Say Anything`s self titeld album, you´ll like it ;) (I Hate Everyone, Do Better, Less Cute, Mara And Me....)

I tried to get into Say Anything last week, and it was like trying to steal a gem inexplicably caught between a lion's teeth. Far too daring for this listener.
P.S. Can album rules, thank you. Sure thing. Tago Mago (boisterous and uninhibited) and Future Days (slow and groovy) are also wonderful records if you're up for more Can.

the Dangerous Summer, Copeland (not really pop punk but they're great), Manchester Orchestra that'll do you some good, maybe even some hip hop like the Roots or Murs

Definitely listen to Copeland. It's softer music, but I'd say better than a lot of "pop punk" (I'm not sure what you listen to) out there.
