Million Dead were awesome but Frank Turner's acoustic stuff is, to be honest, at best average and at worst pretty rubbish.

so yesterday I caught the fort minor video for the song "where'd you go" and Jonah Matranga looks like the dude sitting in the car in the video and i was wondering if it actually was him or just someone that resembles him?

why do bands release vynls? nobody (and i know when i say nobody you'll be like I DO) owns a record player. and the quality is shit. whats the reason other than being oldschool

i disagree. it only makes sense when something is recorded to an analog format, then pressed in an analog fashion onto the vinyl. modern records are almost always digital. digital -> analog does not equal digital -> digital, it results in a loss of quality. plus, most record players are not high quality enough, nor are the pressed copies of high enough quality, to actually sound better. the noise is much more prominent on records than cds. perhaps an excellent player with master copies of the records, but who has access to this? those who believe in this day and age that vinyl is better than cd are simply telling themselves that because they like the IDEA of vinyl. the only thing vinyl has over cds is that record companies have yet to find a way to place DRM onto it. obviously, vinyl could be better than mp3. however, a 320 kb/s mp3 is roughly 90% of the quality of a cd, and the artifacts are not as audible as the pops and clicks that occur on vinyl (read: defects). obviously, a 32 kb/s or old 128 kb/s (i've noticed the encoding algorithms have improved quite a bit, and newer 128 files are much more listenable than older ones) will not match up to vinyl, as that is essentially lossless aside from the pops and clicks.
my two cents. feel free to call me a douchebag or something, i've come to expect it.

I have a record player too.
And a fair few amount of records.
Plan on getting this ordered soon.
Also, order before June 20, and you get a free ltd. edition, 2 colour version of the record...supposadly.
And, check out frank turner (http://www.frank-turner.com) at myspace (http://www.myspace.com/frankturner) if you wanna listen to his stuff.
Or you could check out the fansite (http://www.hippieburner.com), where you can get hold of some live radio sessions and links to youtube videos.
