Great band. For someone wanting to check them out I suggest giving Hollywood Town Hall a listen. Though the recently released compilation Music From The North County is a solid introduction to the band as well.

RIYL: Uncle Tupelo, Whiskeytown, maybe The Byrds, alt. country in general.

Reading the comments for "Waiting for The Sun" is kind of funny. Would be pretty ironic if Petty really did rip these guys off and then criticized the Chili Peppers for doing the same thing haha.

They are similar but that kind of thing happens all the time in music so whatever haha.

Yeah it's not like they sound exactly alike. Never understood why people get so uptight about things like that.

Me neither. Then there's the accusations that Petty stole the line "rebel without a clue" from Paul Westerberg (which he probably did because they're exactly the same line haha) but again, doesn't really bother me at all.

When I was twelve I coined that term myself without having ever heard The Replacements or Tom Petty. True story.

Haven't heard it yet, but I'm really excited to see what they came up with now that the original lineup is back. I love Rainy Day Music but this band definitely wasn't quite the same without Mark Olson.
