So here we go .. i voted for Multi-Instrumentalist + Audio Producer, Drums and Guitar Hero/Rock Band. I play guitar, bass, piano but i consider Drums as my main instrument. I m also able to make a good sounding demo in my crappy home studio, i use Cubase and Reason.
Lets see some talent from AP readers .. I bet the Guitar Option will rule this poll ... :) btw if u have a site (myspace/purevolume/soundclick) post ur links so we can check out some of your talent :)

I can play guitar, bass (obviously), drums and piano. I am also a dab hand at mixing (I guess that would be audio-producer?, but I just went for the instruments)
edit: oh and I also do backing vocals for my band, but I didn't bother putting that one either...

go here http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm
everything i know about audio-production is from that site.
Here's the result www.myspace.com/soulthrow (http://www.myspace.com/soulthrow)
p.s audio production is a reaaaaaaaally expensive hobby .. you may regret it in the near future .. you always need something more, better mics, better preamps, better monitors, upgrade this and that, room treatment, better sequencer ...

Yeah, but I wouldn't class myself as that.. As I don't really do the producing stuff very often at all.

I can play a few instruments but I wouldn't call myself a multi-instrumentalist. I'm a decent/proficient singer and guitarist, I can passably play piano (I wish I was better), I can play bass and drums well enough to get by, and I'm majoring in audio production.

Sorry dude, you defined multi-instrumentalist as "at least 3 instruments". I can play guitar, piano, bass, drums, and sing, but I'm not a good enough pianist, bassist, or drummer to qualify as a multi-instrumentalist.

I said producer (among other things), even those I don't actually produce. I more engineer. Most people don't know the difference though.
When you say you're talking about an album's production, you're really talking about its engineering.
I also play guitar, bass, try to sing, try to play piano, used to play sax (alto, tenor, and beri), and I'm getting pretty decent at the harmonica.

It's mostly covers, since unfortunately for me, out of all those things I play/try to play, I'm not a songwriter haha.
I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to recording/engineering too, so nothing is great. There's some stuff I've been meaning to go back and clean up after learning a bit more, but it's been a busy semester at school and I haven't really been able to do anything for a long time.

And similarly if you can play bass, then you can play guitar. I taught myself to play guitar having only had lessons for bass. And being a proficient guitarist is definitely not transferable to being a proficient bassist, and vice versa. Two very different skill sets.

I wouldn't particularly say so. Maybe I write it off as that as I am proficient at both. But having taught myself to play the guitar, I had no trouble playing the bass when I picked one up.

The way you use your fretting hand while playing bass is completely different than guitar, and most people don't know that. Playing the bass like you play a guitar isn't playing the bass. Also the style is totally different unless you're just playing really basic pop-punk stuff. If you can play the guitar, of course you can make sounds on the bass, and make sounds that are in key, but that doesn't mean you can really play it.
I played the sax, and I would pick up my sister's flute and I could play notes and simple things, but I could hardly say that I could play the flute. The style is totally different.
