I've listened to a hell of a lot music this year but I don't really looked after hardore-albums cause I kinda grew tired of the genre. Anyway, it would be nice if you guys sum up the greatest hardcorealbums of this year. I will check them out and maybe I find something I do like. The only band in this genre I've really loved last year was Defeater. I also do like Modern Life Is War or Verse so if there are any bands of that type with a release this year, mention it if you want. Thanks anyway!

Defeater have a new EP, Lost Ground, which is good.

I've also enjoyed the releases from Lewd Acts, Rise & Fall, Hour of the Wolf, Cult Ritual, Pulling Teeth, Ruiner, Iron Age, and Gray Ghost. Also looking forward to the new 12" from Blacklisted which should be out before the end of the year.

any reason why they aren't releasing it digitally or on CD? or have I just been reading all of their newsposts wrong? either way I'm excited

my whole top 10 has pretty much been covered. Bridge 9 and Deathwish both had ridiculous years. Dead Swans, Lewd Acts, Trapped Under Ice, Ruiner, Reign Supreme and Soul Control all put out stellar records. Really enjoyed Earth Crisis' comeback album and the new Defeater Ep as well.

not sure - haven't heard that they're not releasing it digitally, would be surprised if that's the case, but re: CD's, think it's just a case of not worth it as people don't really buy them anymore. Once upon a time it was the case that many smaller releases were vinyl-exclusive, guess the labels are starting to see the merit in that and return to it.

I've just heard it referred to as a 12" release, no preorder of anything, so that could definetly be the case.

I've spent most of this year, however, getting into Hardcore in general and discovering older albums (Black Flag, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Bad Brains etc, I'm always looking into finding more so recs are more than welcome. I don't pretend to know a lot about the genre)

yeah this year and last I've spent alot getting into more hardcore. I havent explored the first three of those bands you listed, but I instantly fell in love with Bad Brains, for sure. have you heard any of their non-HR stuff?

I need to get on that. I saw them in DC with Title Fight, Mindset, Troops for Tomorrow & TUI. I really enjoyed their set but it looked like most folks weren't into it :/

the guy who started this shouldve specified what kind of hardcore he was talking about.
we've got people here talking about all sorts of shit since hardcore/punk, hardcore/metal, hardcore/thrash and metalcore are all COMPLETELY different things but all belong to the hardcore family.
