Yo, go get your ticket, your seats snacks and beverages
While we get wicked all in your brain cracks and crevaces
Servicing bulletins to you critical puritans
Who be shouting in my vicinity doubting my capability
(Expect) no defeat, my whole fleet be scorching
Keep across your vision blurred from heat distortion
The proportions better that precaution
While we shake the portion fakes are lost in, never flossing
(The antidote for your mood) We sloppy dope and I'm hoping
What I wrote get you open like a Fallopian tube
In my crew we inclube brothers who worthy
Rebels indeed, J's from LA, I'm from Shahee

A rap song that actually has deep meaning, I know, rare. I'm not black but I dont care who you are these lyrics are legit.

Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a n igga he's a hero
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

alright yea biggie was good. but biggie didnt rap on shit like tupac. tupac made biggie. like seriously listen to his music after ready to die, why does it suddenly sound like tupacs shit?

and if biggie was such a lyrical badass he wouldnt have had to use wu tangs lyrics in his verse.

You can't even compare Pac and Biggie. There is no comparison between East and West coast rap at the time. I much prefer Biggies style of delivery to Tupacs but just like all music its completely subjective.

Also, what song does he use Wu Tang lyrics in?

yea biggie could deliver your right. but on a lyrical stand point, tupac killed him. and there is a complete comparison. and he used it in notorious thugs, "cash rules everything round me"

"Back in the days when I was a teenager
Before I had status and before I had a pager
You could find the Abstract listening to hip hop
My pops used to say, it reminded him of be-bop
I said, well daddy don't you know that things go in cycles
The way that Bobby Brown is just ampin like Michael
Its all expected, things are for the lookin
If you got the money, Quest is for the bookin
Come on everybody, let's get with the fly modes
Still got room on the truck, load the back boom
Listen to the rhyme, to get a mental picture
of this black man, through black woman victim
Why do I say that, cuz I gotta speak the truth man
Doing what we feel for the music is the proof and
Planted on the ground, the act is so together
Bonafied strong, you need leverage to sever"

Every verse is intricate, this ain't a circus in a tent
We don't get down like them clowns and the kids
I'm use to being indegent, who said its all about the Benjamin's?
I wanna fortune, I wanna make music and hit the lottery
Fortunately my music is never watery
That's how its gotta be, as far as I can see
Maybe you should grab a telescope to see my veiw its like astronomy

See I'm strategic I letcha money talk bullshit walk
While I keep it rollin' like parapalegics
Whoever's on the microphone let it be known
You in danger, I got next(necks) like the Boston Strangler

flash that buttery gold, jittery zeitgeist
wither by the watering hole, border patrol
what are we to heart huckabee art fuckery suddenly?
not enough young in his lung for the waterwing
colorfully vulgar poacher outta mulch
like "i'm 'a pull the pulse out a soldier and bolt"
fine
sign of the time we elapse
when a primate climb up a spine and attach
eye for an eye by the bog like swamps and vines
they get a rise out of frogs and flies
so when a dog-fight's hog-tied prize sorta costs a life
their mouths water on a fork and knife
and the allure isn't right, no score on a war torn beach
where the cash cow's actually beef
blood turns wine when it leak for police
like "that's not a riot it's a feast, let's eat!"

Anything by keke swagger!

Or Modern Mans Hustle by Atmosphere

Who cares what Jane says
She always spits the same spit
Id rather kill the radio and listen to the rain hit
Little sister needs seclusion
Somehow she'll discover it through the pop music
Got used to the feeling of falling
But you'll never see her following
Bouncing back and forth between the healing and the hollering
Riding the outer ring of your own private saturn
Thoughts scattered all across the grey matter

Little baby doll, she doesnt know what to say to yall
The patience is short and of course the pride is way too tall
Break it all smash the past like it was made of glass
Aint no other way to make it last
It hurts to watch Lucy lose the dream
Ive had the pleasure of seeing our hero kick and scream
And when she calms down Ill turn the sound down
And put my arms around the little lost and found
And Ill tell her that

Better get the best shit you wrote to make some go wild
Shit you'll put in an AOL Profile
Download it, burn it, and ship it to Kansas
To a cousin that will pump it on a Colleage campus
Play it at dances and translate it to Spanish
So fucking exchanhe mother-fuckers'll understand this
Shit that'll make them chicks send u them panties
And fight with her family like "You don't understand me!"
Raps that'll change the existence of earth
From infant to birth if mum heard the verse
Like "What!?"
Didnt understand it at first
So she reversed and played it until her brain burst
Thats how it works
Gotta love it 'till it hurts
Love it 'till I easily ease off skirts
Ease on your knees and I skeed on your shirt

"Today's agenda, got the suitcase up in the Sentra
Go to room 112, tell em Blanco sent ['cha]
Feel the strangest, if no money exchanges
I got these kids in ranges, believe them niggaz brainless
All they tote is stainless, you just remain as
calm as possible, make the deal go through
If not, here's 12 shots, we know how you do
Please make yo killings clean, slugs up in between
They eyes, like True Lies, Kill em and flee the scene
Just bring back the coke or the cream
Or else, ya life is on the shelf, we mean this Frank
Them cats we fuckin wit put bombs in yo moms gas tank
Let's get this money baby, they shady, we get shady
Dress up like ladies and burn em with [dirty] three-eighties
Then they come to kill our babies, that's all out
I got gats that blow the wall out, clear the mall out
Fuck the fallout, word to Stretch, I bet they pussy
The seven digits push me, fuckin real, here's the deal
I got a hundred bricks, fourteen-five a piece
Enough to cop six buy the house on the beach
Supply the peeps with Jeeps, brick apiece, capiche?
Everybody gettin cream no one considered a leach
Think about it now, thats damn near one point five
I kill em all I'll be set for life Frank pay attention

Without a shaddow of a doubt it is this

When me and my posse stepped in the house
All the punk-ass niggaz start breakin out
Cause you know, they know whassup
So we started lookin for the bitches with the big butts
Like her, but she keep cryin
"I got a boyfriend", Bitch stop lyin
Dumb-ass hooker ain't nuttin but a dyke
Suddenly I see, some niggaz that I don't like
Walked over to em, and said, "Whassup?"
The first ***** that I saw, hit em in the jaw
Ren started stompin em, and so did E
By that time got rushed by security
Out the door, but we don't quit
Ren said, "Let's start some shit!"
I got a shotgun, and here's the plot
Takin niggaz out with a flurry of buckshots
Boom boom boom, yeah I was gunnin
And then you look, all you see is niggaz runnin
and fallin and yellin and pushin and screamin
and cussin, I stepped back, and I kept bustin
And then I realized it's time for me to go
So I stopped, jumped in the vehicle
It's like this, because of that who-ride
N.W.A. is wanted for a homicide
Cause I'm the type of ***** that's built to last
Fuck wit me, I'll put my foot in your ass
See I don't give a fuck, cause I keep bailin
Yo, what the fuck are they yellin?

Hypercondriac, hanging out at the laundromat
Where all the raunchy fat white trashy blondes be at
Dressed like a sailor, standin by a pail of garbage
Its almost dark and I'm still tryna nail a trailor park bitch
I met a slut and said "What up, its nice to meet ya"
I'd like to treat ya to a Faygo and a slice of pizza
But I'm broke as fuck and I don't get paid till the first of next month
But if you care to join me, I was bout to roll this next blunt
But I aint got no weed, no phillies, or no papers
Plus I'm a rapist and a repeated prison escapist
So gimme all your money
And don't try nothin funny
Cuz you know your stinkin ass is too fat to try to outrun me
I went to grab my gun
Thats when her ass put it on me
Wit an uppercut and hit me with a basket of laundry
I fell through the glass doors
Started causin a scene
Then slid across the floor and flew right into a washin machine
Jumped up with a broken back
Thank god I was smokin crack all day
And doped up off coke and smack
All I wanted to do was rape the bitch and snatch her purse
Now I wanna kill her
But so I gotta catch her first
Ran through Rally's parkin lot and took a shortcut
Saw the house she ran up in
And shot her fuckin porch up
Kicked the door down to murder this divorced slut
Looked around the room
Thats when I seen the bedroom door shut
I know you're in there bitch! I got my gun cocked!
You might as well come out now
She said "Come in, its unlocked!"
I walked in and all I smelled was Liz Claiborne
And seen her spread across the bed naked watchin gay porn
She said "Come here big boy, lets get acquainted"
I turned around to run, twisted my ankle and sprained it
She came at me at full speed, nothin could stop her
I shot her five times and every bullet bounced off her
I started to beg "No, please let go"
But she swallowed my fuckin leg whole like an egg roll
With one leg left, now I'm hoppin around crippled
I grabbed my pocket knife and sliced off her right nipple
Just trying to buy me some time, then I remembered this magic trick
Den Den Den Den Den Den, Go go gadget dick!
Whipped that shit out, and aint no doubt about it
It hit the ground and caused an earthquake and power outage
I shouted "Now bitch, lets see who gets the best!"
Stuffed that shit in crooked and fucked that fat slut to death

@Above, sorry, Lil Wayne used to be decent, now he straight up fucking sucks. Get over it.

It's gonna take the man in me to conquer this insanity
It seems the rain will never let up
I try to keep my head up, and still keep from gettin' wet up
You know it's funny, when it rains it pours
They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor
Say there ain't no hope for the youth and the truth is
There ain't no hope for the future

oh yeah, and this verse on Never Let Me Down... i forget who it's by, but i love that verse

We are all here for a reason on a particular path
You don't need a curriculum to know that you are part of the math
Cats think I'm delirious, but I'm so damn serious
That's why I expose my soul to the globe, the world
I'm trying to make it better for these little boys and girls
I'm not just another individual, my spirit is a part of this
That's why I get spiritual, but I get my hymns from Him
So it's not me, it's He that's lyrical
I'm not a miracle, I'm a heaven-sent instrument
My rhythmatic regimen navigates melodic notes for your soul and your mental
That's why I'm instrumental
Vibrations is what I'm into
Yeah, I need my loot by rent day
But that is not what gives me the heart of Kunte Kinte
I'm tryina give us "us free" like Cinque
I can't stop, that's why I'm hot
Determination, dedication, motivation
I'm talking to you, my many inspirations
When I say I can't, let you or self down
If I were of the highest cliff, on the highest riff
And you slipped off the side and clinched on to your life in my grip
I would never, ever let you down
And when these words are found
Let it been known that God's penmanship has been signed with a language called love
That's why my breath is felt by the deaf
And why my words are heard and confined to the ears of the blind
I, too, dream in color and in rhyme
So I guess I'm one of a kind in a full house
Cuz whenever I open my heart, my soul, or my mouth
A touch of God reigns out

Lupe - "Dumb It Down"

"And I'm brainless
Which means I'm headless
Like Ichabod Crane is
Or foreplay-less sex is
Which makes me stainless
With no neck left to hang the chain with
Which makes me necklace-less
Like a necklace theft
And I ain't used my headrest yet
They said they need proof like a vestless chest 'bout the best, fair F-F-jet in the nest
Who exudes confidence and excess depth
Even Scuba Steve would find it hard to breathe
Around these leagues
My snorkle is a tuba, Lu the ruler around these seas
Westside Poseidon, Westside beside'em, chest high and rising
Almost touching the knees of stewardess and the pilot
Lucky they make you flowered
Personal floating devices, tricks falling out of my sleeves
David Blaine
Make it rain
You Make a boat
I make a plane
Then, I pull the plug and I make it drain
Until I feel like flowing and filling it up again.."

Oh, and I'm going to throw this one in for the badass delivery:

"The year's '94 and my trunk is raw
In my rear view mirror is the mother fuckin' law
I got two choices y'all pull over the car or (hmmm)
Bounce on the double put the pedal to the floor
Now I ain't tryin' to see no highway chase with Jay.
Plus i got a few dollars i can fight the case
So I...pull over to the side of the road
I heard "Son do you know why I'm stoppin' you for?"
Cause I'm young and I'm black and my hats real low?
Do I look like a mind reader sir, I don't know
Am I under arrest or should I guess some mo'?
"Well you was doin fifty-five in a fifty-fo' "
"Liscense and registration and step out of the car"
"Are you carryin' a weapon on you I know a lot of you are"
I ain't steppin out of shit all my paper's legit
"Well, do you mind if I look round the car a little bit?"
Well my glove compartment is locked so are the trunk in the back
And I know my rights so you gon' need a warrant for that
"Aren't you sharp as a tack, you some type of lawyer or something'?"
"Or somebody important or somethin'?"
Nah, I ain't pass the bar but i know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally search my shit
"We'll see how smart you are when the K9 come"
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one
Hit me"

Oh, and can't forget about this darling verse from earlier this year:

The windows on the Ave look like sad eyes
they fix their sharp gaze on you when you pass by
and if you dare to stand, you can see em cry

you can watch em scowl
feel them prowl
wall and study every inch about you
fast math measuring what you amount to

The laughter, the screams!
the numeral, the song of Psalms
the book of dreams!

ends don't meet where the arms can't reach
mean streets
even when its free it ain't cheap.
on going saga, terminal diagnosis,
basic survival requires super heroics.

No space in the budget for a cake
it's when you gotta fly by night to save the day

And now I'm livin in correctional facilities
Cause some don't agree with how I do this
I get straight and meditate like a Buddhist
I'm droppin flava, my behaviour is hereditary
But my technique is very necessary
Blame it on Ice Cube; because he said it gets funky
when you got a subject and a predicate
Add it on a dope beat; and it'll make you think
Some suckers just tickle me pink - to my stomach
Cause they don't flow like this one
You know what? I won't hesitate to diss one
or two before I'm through, so don't try to sing this
Some drop science; while I'm droppin english
Even if Yella, makes it a-capella
I still express, yo, I don't smoke weed or sess

It's intimate, I keeps the party moving like a imigrant
Binary Star, superstar its no coincidence
Every verse is intricate, this ain't a circus in a tent
We don't get down like them clowns and the kids
I'm use to being indegent, who said its all about the Benjamin's?
I wanna fortune, I wanna make music and hit the lottery
Fortunately my music is never watery
That's how its gotta be, as far as I can see
Maybe you should grab a telescope to see my veiw its like astronomy
It aint all about economy
so the fact that these wack emcees is making G's don't bother me
Honestly, my number one policy is quality
never sell my soul is my philosophy
High velocity, lyrics like Nastradamus make a prophecy
I told you cats a long time a go it ain't no stoppin' me
I bomb your set that's not a threat its a promise
Got everybody ridin' on my wagon like the Amish
But still I never claim to be a big rap star
So no matter who you are its still Allah who act God
Better believe this, most rappers can't achieve this
I'm bad to the bone but x-rays can't even see this
See I'm strategic I letcha money talk bullshit walk
While I keep it rollin' like parapalegics
Whoever's on the microphone let it be known
You in danger, I got next(necks) like the Boston Strangler
You ain't never heard an emcee speak like this
And Rodney King ain't never felt a beat like this

Brother Ali's verse in "Caged Bird"

Our voice ring in the emptiness
The helpless moan of wings that will never spread
My song brings the evidence
Allowing me to sing what was never said
Parents look down on the pigeons who comb the streets for old trash to eat
But my head's up I strut through this bitch 'cause
My beak doesn't repeat my master's speech
My feathers are your scholar's ink pen,
They're how the natives decorate their big men
I represent strength and wisdom
And even you can see freedom ring when my wings spread
What is it about you that you have to capture that what you can not master
If you can't grasp it you attack it, trap it, slam it in a cage and latch it
Everyday that you hold me in bars is another day I can't teach your soul to soar
Here both of us are, linked to the song
And when you hear a caged bird sing along

Hj2-VjepNV8

Last verse in "Letitbe" by Dyme Def

I'm at a point in my life
That the main issue is trying to have a joint in my life
They point at my life and laugh
See, I got two jobs and I'm still broke
See, I got bad asthma and I still smoke
The doctor tellin' me that my breathing's getting worse
And soon I won't be able to spit a verse, now I'm feeling cursed
No turning to my dad 'cause he's too far to look for
So instead I look forward, but I don't look forward to seeing him
At nights I still have bad dreams of being him
People say, "You look just like your dad
You got his laugh, you got his walk, you got his talk."
But I don't got his heart
No, I'm much stronger
My armor is tough for Hussein to drop a bomb on it
The enemy is really myself
The enemy is really what made me help somebody out

Boy meets world, of course his pops is gone
What you figga
That chalky outline on the ground is a father figure
So he steps to the next stencil, that's a hustler
Infested with money and diamond cluster
Lets talk in laymen terms
Rotten apples and big worms
Early birds and poachers
New York is evil at it's core, so those who have more than them
Prepare to be vic-tims
Ate up by vultures, the politicians
In a dog eat dog culture, that'll sick 'em
Lack of mineral, we take it personal
A pigeon can't drop shit if it never flew
Every day is no frills, empty krills
Broken 40 bottles and m.c's with skills
I rest my head on 115
But miracles only happen on 34th, so I guess life is mean
And death is the median
And purgatory is the mode that we settle in

Seven firmaments of heaven to hell, 8 Million Stories to tell
Nine planets faithfully keep in orbit
with the probable tenth, the universe expands length
The body of my text posess extra strength
Power-liftin powerless up, out of this, towerin inferno
My ink so hot it burn through the journal
I'm blacker than midnight on Broadway and Myrtle
Hip-Hop past all your tall social hurdles
like the nationwide projects, prison-industry complex
Broken glass wall better keep your alarm set
Streets too loud to ever hear freedom sing
Say evacuate your sleep, it's dangerous to dream
but you chain cats get they CHA-POW, who dead now
Killin fields need blood to graze the cash cow
It's a number game, but shit don't add up somehow
Like I got, sixteen to thirty-two bars to rock it
but only 15% of profits, ever see my pockets like
sixty-nine billion in the last twenty years
spent on national defense but folks still live in fear like
nearly half of America's largest cities is one-quarter black
That's why they gave Ricky Ross all the crack
Sixteen ounces to a pound, twenty more to a ki
A five minute sentence hearing and you no longer free
40% of Americans own a cell phone
so they can hear, everything that you say when you ain't home
I guess, Michael Jackson was right, "You Are Not Alone"
Rock your hardhat black cause you in the Terrordome
full of hard niggaz, large niggaz, dice tumblers
Young teens and prison greens facin life numbers
Crack mothers, crack babies and AIDS patients
Young bloods can't spell but they could rock you in PlayStation
This new math is whippin motherfuckers ass
You wanna know how to rhyme you better learn how to add
It's mathematics

epic.

I rap for listeners, blunt heads, fly ladies and prisoners
Hennessy holders and old school ******, then I be dissin a
Unofficial that smoke woolie thai
I dropped out of Cooley High, gassed up by a cokehead cutie pie
Jungle survivor, fuck who's the liver
My man put the battery in my back, a difference from Energizer
Sentence begins indented, with formality
My duration's infinite, money-wise or physiology
Poetry, that's a part of me, retardedly bop
I drop the ancient manifested hip-hop, straight off the block
I reminisce on park jams, my man was shot for his sheep coat
Childhood lesson made me see him drop in my weed smoke
—Nas, "Memory Lane (Sittin' in da Park)"
That whole album is full of classic verses

Visualizin the realism of life and actuality
Fuck who's the baddest a person's status depends on salary
And my mentality is, money orientated
I'm destined to live the dream for all my peeps who never made it
cause yeah, we were beginners in the hood as five percenters
But somethin must of got in us cause all of us turned to sinners
Now some, restin in peace and some are sittin in San Quentin
Others such as myself are tryin to carry on tradition
Keepin the schwepervesence street ghetto essence inside us
Cause it provides us with the proper insight to guide us
Even though, we know somehow we all gotta go
but as long as we leavin thievin we'll be leavin with some kind of dough
so, and to that day we expire and turn to vapors
me and my capers-ll be somewhere stackin plenty papers
Keepin it real, packin steel, gettin high
Cause life's a bitch and then you die

I see a lot of Illmatic, but I figured it would have been from one of his verses in "It Ain't Hard to Tell."

Jeru the Damaja - Gang Starr's "I'm the Man"

I'll tap your jaw
you probably heard it before
step to the bedlamite I'll prove my word is law
drugstore with more
dope rhyme vendor
not partial to beef
the chief ambassador
niggaz get mad cuz they can't score
like a wild west flick they wish to shoot up my door
but I incite a riot
don't even try it
bust up chumps so crab kids keep quiet
like I said before
I tap jaws
snatch whores
kill suckers in wars
vic a style you said was yours
money grip wanna flip but you're fish
house the mic like your hooker and did tricks on the bitch
Dirty Rotten Scoundrel and my name is Jeru
utilizing my tools in '92
MC's step up in mobs to defeat us
when we rock knots and got props like Norm Peterson
lot's of friends, lot's of fun, lots of beers
got the skills, kreeno so I always get cheers
troop on like a trooper, no tears for fears
I'm a get mines cuz the crew will get theirs
cut you up like Edward Scissorhands
you know the program, I'm the muthafuckin' man...

Elzhi - "Guessing Game"

Check, this girl was peckin' my neck
She knew this one minute man who used to bust in one sec-
-retary; it was a dude named Kev
He went to church on a Sunday and turned his back on the rev-
-olution; bet, you caught on yet? Okay
Your dogs turn scaredy-cat when they facin' the vet-
-erinarian; because they not this slick, I keep a chick
lost for words, that's why she hop all on my dic-
-tionary; I don't be givin' a fuck
This line goes to each and every critic that thought I would suc-
-ceed; but peep the line before last, it's breathtaking
It has your favorite rapper sounding as-
-thmatic; I keep the rhymes strikin' 'em
Cuz I sparkle like a diamond, and shine like a gem-
-shoe; not carin' who I offend
I ain't believe in none of y'all thug ****** livin' in cin-
-emas; I had this girl in my bed
And every time she opened up her mouth she was givin' me head-
-aches; now since the day I got bread, I could spread
I know quite a few of my friends has gotten fed-
-up

Andre 3000 Kills this:
So, I typed a text to a girl I used to see
Sayin that I chose this cutie pie with whom I wanna be
And I apologize if this message gets you down
Then I CC'd every girl that I'd see see round town and
I hate to see y'all frown but I'd rather see her smiling
Wetness all around me, true, but I'm no island
Peninsula maybe, makes no sense I know, crazy
Give up all this pussy cat thats in my lap no lookin back
Spaceships dont come equipped with rearview mirrors
They dip as quick as they can
The atmosphere is now ripped
Im so like a Pip, Im glad its night
So the light from the sun would not burn me on my bum
When I shoot the moon high, jump the broom
Like a premie out the womb
My partner yellin "Too soon! Dont do it! Reconsider!
Read some litera - ture on the subject
You sure? Fuck it
You know we got your back like chiroprac - tic
If that bitch do you dirty
we'll wipe her ass out as in detergent
Now hurry hurry, go on to the altar
I know you aint a pimp but pimp remember what I taught ya
Keep your heart 3 stacks, keep your heart
Aye, keep your heart 3 stacks, keep your heart
Man, these girls is smart, 3 stacks, these girls is smart
Play your part
Play your part

and Any of Eminem's "Stan"...never get tired of that song

If I were to die murdered in cold blood tomorrow
Would you feel sorrow or show love
Or would it matter
Can never be the lead-off batter of things
Shit for me to feed off
I'm see-saw battling
But theres way too much at stake for me to be fake
There's too much on my plate
And I came way too far in this game to turn and walk away
And not say what I got to say
What the fuck you take me for? a joke? you smoking crack?
Before I do that, I beg Mariah to take me back
I get up 'for I get down, run myself in the ground, 'for I put some wack shit out
I'm trying-a smack this one out the park, five-thousand mark
You all steady trying to drown the shark
Ain't gonna do nothing but piss me off
Lid to the can of whoop ass, just twist me off
See me leap out, pull the piece out, fuck shooting I'm just trying to knock his teeth out
Fuck with me now, bitch, let's see you freestyle
Talk is cheap, motherfucker if you're really feeling froggish, leap
You're slim, you're gonna let him get away with that?
He tried to play you, you can't let him 'scape with that
Man I hate this crap, this ain't rap,
This is crazy the way we act
When we confuse hip-hop with real life when the music stops

Great verse from Phonte of Little Brother...severely underrated group.

I was looking at your photograph amazed how I favored you
I remember being young wanting to play with you
Cause you was a wild and crazy dude
And now I understand why my momma couldn't never stay with you
From the roots to the branches to the leaves
They say apples don't fall far from the trees
I used to find it hard to believe
And I swore that I would
Always hold my family as long as I could
But damn
Our memories can be so misleading
It's misery
I hate to see history repeating
Thought you were the bad guy
But I guess that's why
me and my girl split
And my son is leaving
I did chores, did bills, and did dirt
But I swear to God I tried to make that shit work
'Til I came off tour to an empty house
With all the dressers and the cabinets emptied out
I think I must've went insane
Thinking I was in love, but really in chains
Trapped to this girl through the two-year old who carried my name
I tried to stop tripping
But yo, I couldn't and the plot thickened
That shit affected me, largely
Because I know a lot of people want me
To fail as a father
And the thought of that haunts me
Especially when I check my rear-view mirror
And don't see him in his car seat
So the next time it's late at night
and I'm laid up with the woman I'mma make my wife
talking 'bout how we 'gon make a life
I'm thinking about child support, alimony, visitation rights
Cause that's the only outcome if you can't make it right
Pissed off with your children feeling the same pain
So, Pop, how could I blame cause you couldn't maintain
I did the same thing
The same thing

Eminem - Kill Yourself
Parents bought this cd when i was in 3rd grade and haven't listened to it until the other day and still remember it so clearly.

"They said I can't rap about being broke no more
They ain't say I can't rap about coke no more
(AH!) Slut, you think I won't choke no whore
'til the vocal cords don't work in her throat no more?!
(AH!) These motherfuckers are thinking I'm playing
Thinking I'm saying the shit cause I'm thinking it just to be saying it
(AH!) Put your hands down bitch, I ain't gonna shoot you
I'ma pull +YOU+ to this bullet, and put it through you
(AH!) Shut up slut, you're causing too much chaos
Just bend over and take it like a slut, OK Ma?
"Oh, now he's raping his own mother, abusing a whore,
snorting coke, and we gave him the Rolling Stone cover?"
You god damn right BITCH, and now it's too late
I'm triple platinum and tragedies happen in two states
I invented violence, you vile venomous volatile bitches
vain Vicadin, vrinnn Vrinnn, VRINNN! [*chainsaw revs up*]
Texas Chainsaw, left his brains all
dangling from his neck, while his head barely hangs on
Blood, guts, guns, cuts
Knives, lives, wives, nuns, sluts"

love the alliteration.

And the band played on
Score the sequence, a piece for my élan
Spread through the procession with a phaeton hitched up to
Thoroughly bred equine, bet he try and cover the spread
Vignette, butter and bread truck, must've been something I said
Cinnamon sugar on my raison dêtre
We shake on credit and contract words
Negotiate the merger to further the fake arm gesture
Dribble the ribald off a baseline
Nine up in the seat cogitating; I preach, for God's sake
Flung a bitter syllable off a sweet tongue, gold dome terrorized
Revoke and nullify, my lodestone pulverized
Sull I rep and don't apologize to
People for indecency the frequency is equalized
Father missed, got this doctorate in absolution
Caught another body; shot and stabbed, and headed back to Houston
Tack escape routes to board bulletins pullin' the stake out
Flash say it's four of them slaughtered inside the safe house
Kowtow, power reneged, trigger the Sig Sauer decibel
Let a few settle and fled the vestibule
Inestimable gems swapped for peridot
Pawn it off as hard-rock, shoppers go hysterical
Veritable trade smith, cake sift, coordinate the bracelet with a facelift
Slip away, they spit on your grave

From the makers of placebo, a trio pushed
To ameliorate the feverish, deceivinest looks
For thieves and crooks booked up in the state's prison system
It's marketed disregarding the rate of recidivism
I sent a petition: rescind the vendor
Minister free of influence, please, the pen needs instruments
Incriminated, incarcerated, incrementally rehabilitated on frets
Now that's a bass head
Something I can feel, not nothing I should fear
For the impropriety I bring to bear
Where the numbers at compared to then? Summer breeze, fair wind
Jasmine aint blowin' their minds, they're smokin' heroin
No we don't select the listenership or bend to it
The insurrection intimate and interests the syndicate
Offense of friends, incidental to my requisition
In the end, I respect your decision
Yeah

like a can of beer that's sweeter than honey
like a millionaire that has no money
like a rainy day that is not wet
like a gamblin fiend that does not bet
like dracula with out his fangs
like the boogie to the boogie without the boogie bang
like collard greens that dont taste good
like a tree that's not made out of wood
like goin up and not comin down
is just like the beat without the sound no sound

how did they not realise the comparisons have gone on for far too long?!

to the beat beat, ya do the freak
everybody just rock and dance to the beat
have you ever went over a friends house to eat
and the food just aint no good
i mean the macaroni's soggy the peas are mushed
and the chicken tastes like wood
so you try to play it off like you think you can
by sayin that youre full
and then your friend says momma he's just being polite
he aint finished uh uh that's bull
so your heart starts pumpin and you think of a lie
and you say that you already ate
and your friend says man there's plenty of food
so you pile some more on your plate
while the stinky foods steamin your mind starts to dreamin
of the moment that it's time to leave
and then you look at your plate and your chickens slowly rottin
into something that looks like cheese
oh so you say that's it i got to leave this place
i dont care what these people think
im just sittin here makin myself nauseous
with this ugly food that stinks
so you bust out the door while its still closed
still sick from the food you ate
and then you run to the store for quick relief
from a bottle of kaopectate
and then you call your friend two weeks later
to see how he has been
and he says i understand about the food
baby bubbah but we're still friends.

but in all seriousness -

Every now and then I cower and I need to find empowerment
Empowerment is paramount to how I can begin to mount
A plan that I can implement
to make a dent on ignorance
Instead of drunk belligerence
and the dissidence of miscreants
Especially in this instance
with the never ending persistence
to use the words in each sentence
as if they were blunt instruments
to beat a hole in the defence
of this beauty and her innocence
which serves to just build resistance
in spite of all my good intents.
