the best would've been the thrice and dear hunter shows in america, my 2 favourite bands :(

No but seriously. This past Blink tour was insane.
The Weakerthans always put on a flawless show.

Mute Math is by far the best live band I've ever seen. I also really enjoyed Showbread when I saw them a few years ago. And of course, I simply can't say enough about P.O.S. I became a fan after seeing him on a totally random tour in 2007, and he continues to amaze me with his ability to engage even the toughest crowd of hipsters & scenesters.
Flogging Molly, for all Punk fans, this is a must. Last time, they played for 2h and a half, most energetic show I've been in my Life.
Streetlight Manifesto, since it's probably my favorite band... hehe
Brand New, I was kinda impressed by their performance live, they almost sound better than on the cd, Especially the Singer's voice, that rly blew me off.
RBf - always a fun show to attend.
The Johnstones, doesnt sound that good on cd but god, theses guys deliver a "show". If they pass by your town, definately go for it, you won't regret it.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.
By far the most energetic and fun show I've been too, which says a lot because I was in seats and I hate seats. My mom told me I wasn't allowed to go to college before I saw them, and she was right lol. He played for 2.5-3 hours straight.

LMAO.
Uhh. Shit I usually enjoy local shows at certain venues like Matchbox. Theres a certain feeling of being on stage surrounded by a bunch of people screaming into a mic while the lead singer sings on the backup vocal mic.
Gwen Stacy shows are dope if everyone is vibing to it.
Madina Lake and Inept local shows were amazing.
I enjoy warped because even if theres not a band you like playing theres a pit to act a foool in somewhere.
Slipknot used to put on one hell of a show

I wouldn't consider having an energetic show a "trick", Its just how they perform. You're not into it. Others are. You not liking it doesn't mean that they don't put on an awesome show. I believe that's what this thread is about.

A Day To Remember was probably one of the best bands I've seen live. Jeremy's voice was shot, you could tell, but they still put on one hell of a show. The crowd went completely wild.
Although a lot of people don't like them here (from what I've seen) Cobra Starship put on one hell of a show. They definitely outperformed Boys Like Girls on the OP Tour this year. The same goes for 3OH!3. A lot of haters, but they put on one very entertaining, energetic show.
Also from the OP Tour, VersaEmerge was pretty awesome. The crowd was unfortunately dead during this set, but Sierra was flawless on vocals. Probably one of the best flat-out vocal performances I've seen.
Chiodos was fun even though I knew none of their music when I saw them.

Tool was great, their light show was completely mind boggling.. Metallica also had a very awesome show with their pyros and lights. And Sounds of the underground 2007 was one of my favorite concerts being at the front of the mosh for the whole thing start to finish. Gwar multiple times is always a good time getting covered in crap looking all fucked up on your way home after the show.
