Hmm I never thought about this. Hm proably only once a week if that. No one ever rings my doorbell. If I'm expecting someone I leave the door unlocked and they just come in. But considering I'm in school I really don't know who rings my doorbell at home. But on average I would say 10 people knock on my door for either me or my room mate. maybe more depending on the day.

My mom, she does it because I put the chain on the door though. It used to drive me insane, which is one of the reasons I'm glad I dont live with her anymore.

Also, there was the alcoholic/drug dealer, he'd always come by asking for cigarettes or money for cigarettes (although he had money, he didnt pay rent) and he'd always be pissed when I said that my mom wasnt home or that she was out of cigarettes.
