Alice or Blood Money? (Tom Waits)

Two incredible albums released in the same year by the same artist. Which do you prefer?

I think I like Blood Money slightly more but it's a tough choice.

I love them both but I've got to go with Blood Money. Something about that album just sounds so organic and sinister at the same time. Stuff like "Starving In the Belly of a Whale" or "God's Away On Business" are great examples of how creative Tom is. There's also great ballad type songs as well, like "Coney Island Baby" or "Lullaby". Still a tough decision though haha.

Alice gets my vote for its underlying narrative and the fact that I think it's slightly more cohesive. There are individual tracks on Blood Money that blow anything on the former out of the water though.

I would say Alice for sure. Blood Money is great but Alice is a masterpiece.
