Chris Irons (ex-Long Shot Hero (http://www.longshothero.com)) has released a statement regarding his departure from his former band, which you can read for yourself right here (http://www.xanga.com/skaxrock/496392424/item.html).

Wait, he left Long Shot Hero to join a rap group? I don't get it. And why is he reffering to himself as a "true musical pioneer", didn't he just "sing" for them?

I don't know, I think their statement seems a lot more believeable. He just comes off as an arrogant prick in his. Maybe he's bitter.

I'll still love LSH anyway!

"unfortuately, with that, the band has taken a very serious turn towards business aspect. i felt like people were in it to make money"

in a shitty 3rd wave ska band that missed the boat by ten years? uh, maybe.

I didn't really catch the part where he actually referred to HIMSELF as a musicial pioneer, but whatever. Their statement seems a lot more generated, his seems a bit more personal and believable. But then again, I don't really care either way.

I don't know, I've seen Longshot Hero a few times, once in Knoxville and once in PA. The one thing that set them apart was their lead singer's energy. He's going to be a tough guy to replace, but, guess we'll have to see. Good luck to him in the future.

What's the point in talking about "true musical pioneers" then? He is obviously putting himself in that catagory. And as far as energy, I mean, I love them and all, but what does his energy on stage have to do with the music on their album? I've never seen them live, I just have the album, and the vocals are kind of weak. So maybe his energy is just him making up for a lack in musical talent.

I'm still going to listen to them and support them. I'm betting the new album will be even better than the last.

I think this kid is an idiot and won't accept the fact that being in a band full time is supposed to be fun, but its also a job. And any job (no matter how awesome it is) will require you do things you do not want to do. Good for him for realizing it wasn't his thing and deciding to leave. Music should only be a hobby for him, but don't knock your bandmates for trying to make their music their only means of income for themselves. Whether this band sucks or not, it seems like they work very hard and sacrifice a lot. Being in a band is super expensive, especially if you tour often. Someone tell this dude to stop living in the Land of Make Believe. Maybe all that hair dye is leaking into his brain? I dunno.

I'm sure everyone thats posted so far knows what its like to be in a semi-successful band, right? and that you guys know the full story, right?

I think it's really shitty that you guys are criticising him on his decision to leave the band. He's a very talented guy and I'm sure that the project he's working on now with that rap group will be amazing.
