The 2 year old I watch/take care of, is addicted to red bull. We'll be driving somewhere and she'll be like "re bew?" and she'll drink a whole can. If I dont keep an eye on her, she'll have the red bull in her lap and will take a cigarette out of my purse and pretend to smoke it while drinking her drink.

Not my cigarettes, not my problem. Although once, she was screaming for one so I had to make her a pretend cigarette, and she pretended to light it and then had her little purse on her shoulder and her hand on her hip and walked around outside pretending to smoke it, and when she was done, she threw it, stomped on it, and walked away. It was hilariously horrible.

She doesnt light them, she isnt smoking them, she's got the filter end in her mouth, not the other side. She's fine. I've noticed that people say all sorts of things about other people's parenting skills, but then when they become parents they end up doing all of the shit they criticize other people for. For instance, every smoker I know has said "oh how horrible, they're smoking with kids in the car, I'd never do that", a year later, they're smoking with their infant in the back seat.
But her dad is the one who started giving them to her in the first place, pathetically enough, it looks like he's going to win sole custody of her.

i just think that that sort of behaviour, whether she's smoking them for real or not, is still not good. and a two year old has no business drinking red bull as far as im concerned

What do you think a 2 year old should drinking? I'm not being defensive, it's not my kid, but I'm really curious.

She actually drinks way too much milk, we water down red bulls and milks as it is for her, and she doesnt like juice. Its not like toddlers dont drink soda, this is basically like that. And she needs it because she likes the taste, and it makes her sleepy.

I've seen that kind of thing happen with kids with add, so I dont know if its because she's so young or if she has some form of baby add but it has the opposite effect, which makes life so much easier for me at bed time.

Jesus Christ! She's 2, don't let her have Red Bull. It isn't very good for teenagers, let alone a toddler.
May I ask, who is her role model? Because, it doesn't look like she has a good one, pretending to smoke.

You know how you give amphetamine to people with ADD and it does the opposite to them? It does the opposite with her. Watered down red bull is fine, most toddlers drink soda which has about as much caffeine as what I'm giving her.
Kids pretend to smoke all the time, they do it with lollipop sticks, crayons, whatever they can get their hands on. For all you know she could have seen it on tv, which she has.

You have to teach her that smoking is bad, and that the cigarette is her enemy. I remember when I was younger, I used to pretend those candy sticks were cigarettes, but my mum taught me that smoking is bad for me.
You're letting her put an actual cigarette in her mouth, rather than something that looks like one. Can't you see a problem with that? She might want to smoke it one day, if she sees it on TV. Maybe, you should let her watch more "child friendly" TV.

On little kids it has the affect of making them tired, just like people with ADD/ADHD.

3 generations have been raised on anti smoking/anti drug campaigns, I'm not sure what is going to keep people from smoking if that hasnt stopped people so far. I never let her get away with putting a real one in her mouth, if I see her with one in her mouth, I tell her to throw on the ground and put it out. By the way, I see no problem with shows and movies like I Love Lucy, they entertain her, they arent swearing, murdering each other, having sex, or doing anything like that, I think it's pretty child friendly.

More like $2.55, and no, again, I water down almost every thing she drinks, except for the water. I'll drink most of it, then take some water when she isnt looking and pour it in there.

2. Monster Khaos
3. Redbull Original
4. NAS
5. Amp

Monsters and Losts are the best. I have one a day generally. When I'm doing well financially it goes up to two or three or day. They make a big difference, especially keeping me awake when I am driving. It often feels like my day doesn't start and I don't get relaxed until I have one.
dsd is too high
11/29/09, 09:35 AM
Monster was my fave for a long time. Amp isn't bad if you like mountain dew. I consider Red Bull kinda on its own level. I feel way more lifted and ready to accomplish something after a Red Bull, where as Monster and such just makes me hyper as shit. Any energy drink is fucking horrible for you if you drink more than 1 or 2 a day though. My guitarist got really sick one time and had trouble breathing. The doctor said he can't drink Monster ever again lol. He guzzled them bad boys.
But Monster has a new-ish product called Nitrous (no, not Nos) and its fucking fabulous.

I completely agree with this. I think redbull is disgusting. The only energy drink I can really stand is the orange Full Throttle. I think I like the lemonade AMP as well but I can't remember.
Two year olds should not drink Redbull.... that's fucked. That's wayy too much caffeine for a fucking toddler... ANY amount is too much...
And AMP and Redbull are the worst energy drinks on the market, they're the most overpriced, generic, falsified, toxic garbage there is.

I never drank an energy drink in my life. I don't drink much pop anyways and in a half a can of red bull there's enough caffeine to make your heart act like you have heart disease. It's insane how many people chug energy drinks and don't realize what they're putting in their bodies.

You obviously don't have the skills needed to take care of a child. That, and you, are fucked up.
I'm 17, she's not my child, those werent my cigarettes. If you learned how to read, you'd realize that I dont let her have cigarettes, her dad is a horrible role and is the one who lets her do all of those things, so the weeks I have her, I spend a lot of time trying to undo what he's taught her. The red bull I give her is watered down, and maybe if you knew anything about caffeine addictions, you'd realize that for me to cut her off cold turkey would be a horrible thing, she'd have a migraine for probably two or three days (which I dont really think I should put her through) so I try to wean her off, but of course her dad is the one giving her red bulls in the first place.
Clearly smoking and drinking red bull are the only two things that judge parenting skills, there isnt how you deal with their temper tantrums, changing their diaper, potty training them, giving them healthy foods to eat, making sure she's healthy and happy, teaching her how to communicate in ways other than english, giving her an interest in reading and educational programs, fostering the artistic ways that she likes to express herself, making sure she'll have good self esteem by telling her that she's beautiful multiple times a day, making sure she's safe, teaching her right from wrong, teaching her how to respect people, or playing with her. Yes, its clearly about leaving my purse in the back seat and her grabbing a cigarette and about me watering down her red bull. I also water down her milk at night, do you want to harp on my bad "parenting" skills for that one too? Or how about how I comfort her at night? Oh I know, I'm an awful "parent" for the way I deal with her bed wetting arent I?
Get some god damn reading skills and maybe try taking care of your own life before complaining about how I take care of someone else's child.
