Don't they have like a banjo player or something now. I heard there was going to be some bluegrass elements.

I am not even joking.

I wonder why they're not going with Mark Townsend again. He always did a solid job with them before.

I think this move is more significant than people think. He has produced or co-produced (with Matt T.) everything they've done, dating back to All Work No Play, where Thiessen put on a sweet fake British accent. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. I'm still excited about it though, no matter what this band puts out I'll still appreciate them. They got me into listening to music too.

It will be weird to see another producer's name on this record, even if Townsend ends up doing some songs. I've enjoyed a lot of records produced by Howard Benson though, so at least it's someone with an impressive resume.

According to RK's manager, they aren't recording just yet: (http://relientk.forumsunlimited.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=156856&view=findpost&p=3724735)
"They start pre-production on the record next week. there's no recording date set yet. no release date set yet. howard benson will be producing part of the record."

As I said, it will begin on Sunday. I spent about 4 hours with matt last night, it was our date night, and this is when he told me the news. i dont know who else to get the news from, than the man himself.
