It all was kinda awkward, as well as Jordan's stage presence, but for being the first show - it was pretty awesome.

i bet. were they all just sitting down the whole time playing their instruments or did they at least move around a bit? its so hard to picture NFG playing a whole show acoustic

Ian sat for a few songs, but everyone else was standing and moving a bit. Jordan was kinda pacing around. Oh, and Cyrus was sitting, obviously, playing keys and drums.

Me and my gf have been wanting to see Sonny played live again now for years. I hope they play it in Philly. The only song missing from that set for NFG is Eyesore. There's such a great acoustic version of it on the B-sides album.

As in Ben Folds Five cover??

Yeah, they threw it in at the end of "My Friends Over You", but Jordan didn't know the words. Still cool though haha! I thought NFG transitioned over to acoustic really well, especially considering the fact that they hadn't even practiced the set together as a whole until this morning. Apparently, Jordan's mother is in the hospital, so he didn't fly out and practice until then. I also respect the hell out of Cyrus, as he played the set as a multi-instrumentalist taking on percussion, keyboard, and guitar duties. Would've loved to hear "Understatement" though and also was surprised they only played one off Not Without A Fight.

Dashboard was excellent, as usual, in my opinion and played without a setlist. They took a lot of requests and played a great mix of old and new. Chris also came out and did an unexpected encore of "Best Deceptions". I don't know the exact list or order, but here's what I remember:

"Ghost of a Good Thing" (Opener)
"Hands Down" (Closer)
"The Best Deceptions" (Encore)
"The Good Fight"
"Swiss Army Romance"
Ingrid Michaelson cover (Breakable, breakable, breakable boys and girls?)
A song from Johnny Lefler's album
"Bend and Not Break"
"Carry This Picture"
"Get Me Right"
"Belle of the Boulevard"
"Until Morning"
"Stolen"
"Remember to Breathe"
"So Impossible"
"For You to Notice"
"Screaming Infidelities"
"The Places That You've Come to Fear the Most"
"Where There's Gold..."
"Vindicated"

I think that's all of it, but there might have been one or two more. Definitely a show to see if it's coming around you!

I would've been happy to see them before too but it's always been the wrong timing or I've not had the money for it. As it is, this show is leaving my wallet a bit bare hah. But it'll be worth it. Hopefully we'll both get fantastic set lists. :)

It's too bad I'm not a Dashboard fan, otherwise I would have appreciated that more. I did realize he was playing the EP though, there's always something cool about playing a tracklist live.

As an aside, it's something my buddy pointed out a while back, but in My Friends Over You, Jordan always sings 'perget' instead of 'pretend' in the first verse. It's like he always forgets which verse comes first, so he just combines the two.

if you haven't, grab ender from the pomona show and remember to breathe from the hollywood show.

just got back from highline ballroom. the setlist posted above is spot on as far as I remember. The fire alarm at the venue went off at 7pm, and Chad's guitar was initially messed up but nfg ripped through a killer setlist regardless. The John Lefler song is really, really good, as was the acoustic version of "don't wait." The crowd really got into nfg's cover of ben folds "brick,"...Jordan said the band rehearsed the whole song, although they only are playing snippets on this tour. I sincerely hope somebody taped this show.

Some observations from the show...

Crowd was very quiet for New Found Glory, which is surprising since Philly is always crazy for NFG. Chad at one point went so far as to say if this wasnt a acoustic show he would be cursing the crowd out for sitting down an its lack of energy. Even with the lack of energy, they still put on a good show.

With that said, the place went crazy for Dashboard. The venue was the Trocadaro, which I guess houses approxametly 1000 people, everyone one of which was singing their lungs out for Dashboard. an extra two or three minutes was extended to Hands Down with Chris simply continuing to recite "And I knew, that you meant it." After he finally closed he was viasably emotional to the feedback he was receiving from the crowd all night. I've seen about 6 Dashboard shows, but they were at their best on this night.

Agreed on all points.

New Found Glory was decidedly excellent -- their sound translated much better than I thought it would in the acoustic setting. Also, they seemed extremely comfortable with it as well. It was probably my second favorite show that I've seen them play (out of around eight times?) -- the show with The Starting Line at the TLA many years ago (probably 2003?) would be first.

Dashboard was good, although I don't know much of the new material. The place did go nuts for him, though. Easily my favorite performance out of five times I've seen him/them.

i think most NFG fans didnt have the chance to purchase tickets to the Philly date because it sold out quickly. that's why i didn't go. it didnt bother me though, i saw NFG in October, and i will see them again in February

Any other New Found Glory acoustic boots you've seen out there? I'd love to get a hold of the Detroit show.

Thanks,
Bill
