Whats up everyone? Def some good stuff this week including a "Jackass: Number Two" trailer and "Borat" trailer. And what I think is going to be the best movie this summer "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" trailer.
News and Rumors:
David Fincher's movie about the "Zodiac" serial killer has been pushed back to Jan 2007. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhall and Robert Downey Jr.
Sean Connery is being written into "Indiana Jones 4," but has yet to sign on. However George Lucas is really trying to pressure the retired star into coming back.
"Believe it or Not" the Ripley biopic starring Jim Carrey and directed by Tim Burton is being pushed back for at least a year so Burton can focus on "Sweeny Todd"
Phillip Seymour Hoffman will be pretty busy in the coming months. He has signed on to star in "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," where he will star as one of two brothers who attempt to rob their parents Jewelry Store, Ethan Hawke will star as the other brother. And he will also star alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in "Charlie Wilson's War." In that he will play a CIA agent who along with Hanks try to figure out a way to arm the Afghan rebels in the 1980's to help out with the Cold War.
Boaz Yakin has signed on to write and possibly direct a new "Conan the Barbarian." They're looking at a 2008 summer release.
The upcoming biopics have all sounded pretty good....until now. Universal Pictures has acquired a pitch for a biopic based on Missy Elliotts life. Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are going to produce, rumor is Elliot is going to star as herself and Universal has already put in an order for 1 ton of Twinkees.
Survivor host Jeff Probst has optioned to direct the "Fish out of Water", no news on what the film will be about but he discovered the script while filming Exile Island.
More rumors are heating up that the Spider-Man 3 teaser trailer will be included in "Superman Returns" so make sure you check out Superman Returns or just download it from the internet.
Josh Hartnett is in negotiations to star in "30 Days of Night," a film adaptation of the Steve Niles graphic novel. The film is about vampires in Alaska and is being directed by David Slade.
I know its been awhile but here's some more Batman rumors. John Cusack is being looked at to play Harvey Dent and Paul "Pee Wee" Rubens is going to play The Joker. But definatly just take these as rumors right now. Also word is that the next Batman will be pre-Two Face Dent and Batman teaming to take down the Joker, which will lead to a Batman vs Two Face third movie.
Jessica Alba and Dane Cook are set to star in "Good Luck Chuck." The film has Cook starring as Chuck who has a reputation of having his ex-girlfriends rebound to their soulmates, as this news gets around to the local women, they come out of nowhere to date him just so they can meet the man of their dreams. But Chuck then meets the girl of his dreams in Alba's character.
Dennis Dugan will be taking over the directing job on "I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry" the comedy starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. The two Philly firefighters who pretend to be a gay couple to receive domestic partner benefits.
Anthony Hopkins' "Slipstream" cast has grown even more, in addition to Christian Slater, Anthony Hopkins, Stella Arroyave, Lisa Pepper, Kevin McCarthy, Gavin Grazer and Aaron Tucker. He has signed on John Turturro, Jeffery Tambor, Camryn Manheim, Christopher Lawford, and Michael Clarke Duncan. The film will be written and directed by Hopkins, and is about a screenwriter who is on the verge of a "brain implosion" as his characters start appearing in his world and he starts appearing in theirs.
Leonardo DiCaprio has a new adventure-thriller coming out titled "The Blood Diamond." Set in the 1990's during a civil war in Seirra Leone, has DiCaprio starring as a South African mercenary and Djimon Hounsou as a fisherman who finds a rare blood diamond in the fields that he works.
Speaking of DiCaprio, his production company just lost a bidding war to Mr. Jolie's production company for the rights to the novel "World War Z: An Oral History of The Zombie War" written by Max Brooks. The book is about the events in the future that take place when an epidemic wipes out a part of the world's population only to have them come back as zombies. No word yet on if Brad Pitt will star in the film but he will produce.
Eminem is stinking up the screen again, this time in the TV adaption of "Have Gun - Will Travel." He will star as a bounty hunter, most likely from Detroit. Eminem will probably be contributing to the soundtrack as well.
Steven Spielberg is going to direct and develop a sci-fi movie basted on Kip Thorne's theories of gravity fields. It will deal with black holes and gravity waves and Thorne's examinations and theories of Einstein.
The Rock and Roselyn Sanchez will both star in the Disney comedy "The Game Plan." The Rock will star as a pro quarterback whose bachelor lifestyle gets interrupted when he finds out he has a seven year old daughter after the mother passes away. Obviously that's not the comedy part, but i'm guessing his inexperienced parental skills will be the comedic part. Sanchez will play the girls ballet teacher who will be the love interest.
"Gypsy: A Musical Fable," an adaption of the musical has gotten a direct in Rob Marshall and has Catherine Zeta Jones tapped to star.
