Which one do you prefer, and why?

I prefer Coca-Cola, because it seems more Brand New, than Brothers. Maybe Brothers could've found its preferred home on YFW or on a Jesse Lacey acoustic solo disc, but Coca-Cola sounds like the somber closers I've expected on Brand New albums.

Coca-Cola by far. The vocals on Brothers irk me for some reason and I really like how somber Coca-Cola sounds.

doesn't take much to imagine what Brothers could sound like with the production value Coca-cola was given. if that were the case, Brothers would surely be winning this poll

Exactly. Since they are essentially the same songs with different lyrics and better production value, it should be about which song is better lyrically.

To me, the lyrics in Brothers are mind-blowing and heart-wrenching. Given the political climate of those times, referencing war and the struggle of younger people without a lot of money who are forced to go into the military, it is not even close.

For me, it hit home because at that time, MY little brother was considering going into the military instead of college. While I support those who help our country, I desperately did not want to lose my brother to going overseas. There's a lot of senseless violence and mentally damaging things that happen by being involved in a war zone, and I'll always look back at Brothers as a reminder of what could have been and was not.
