ok so i wanna learn how to scream and a friend of mine recommended this video shit.

has anyone used it? does it work?

is there a better way i could learn?

I watched the second dvd once. She knows what she is talking about and it's probably the best way to learn how to not tear up your vocal chords.

i have the first dvd, and it seems that the approach is "ok you kinda know how to scream, so heres some proper techniques so you dont blow your chords out right away." havent seen the second dvd yet, but the warm ups are priceless.

i watched it on youtube, someone uploaded it in like 10 parts. if you can find it you should just watch it there and see if it helps you. but when i watched it then i thought it was pretty informative, i just didnt understand some of the concepts which is frustrating when you cant ask her considering its a video. all in all it was pretty interesting though

edit: i searched for it on youtube to see if its still there, and it isnt. im sure its on the web somewhere though...not that i promote piracy or anything

Yeah, it teaches you how not to tear your vocal chords up... but from what I have seen, most of the vocalists that go to her all sound the same, or very similar.

I'd take a more generic scream over a vocal nodule that results in the inability to sing. You could probably do the better, but more more damaging vocals on tape and then use the safe method of screaming for day to day performing/practicing.

I feel like I didn't get anything out of the first dvd sets. It was more about controlling your breath through exercises.
The second one is definitely better.
