Its always different the older you are though. Thats why you see a twenty year old marrying a fourty year old (in some circumstances). Its not a big fucking deal when youre older, but when youre still a teenager its apparently a big deal.

2-3 years is a great age difference, since girls tend to be a few years older than guys "maturity wise". I tried dating a 26 year old though, did not work out, but it might not have been because of age.

The best thing you can do is try to find someone closer to your age, someone who's 13 definitely would not be on the same level as you when it comes to through process, how they view relationships etc. But that's just my advice, if you decide you're going to date this guy just keep in mind that at this point the age does make a difference. What is with the gay 13 year old boys wanting to be with older guys? I know that with dramatic age differences (and yes 3 years is dramatic when it's 13 and 16) it's no big deal when you're in it, but when you step out of your romantic little bubble, and look at the situation like anyone else would, it's weird, no matter how much you may like the person. If you really like him, I think you should consider waiting to be with him until he's 16, you're both going to change a lot in 2-3 years. I almost dated this guy when I was almost 15, he was 24 (turning 25) and I had no problem with it at the time, I didnt think age really mattered and thought I was really mature. Luckily he changed his mind and said that we should wait 3 or 4 years. Looking back on it now, it's a major what the fuck was I thinking moment.
