For all comic fans out there, a few of us old AP'ers (myself, Gilatron5000, and the artist formerly known as BuySoap) got together and made a comic blog/site together called Multiversity Comics (http://www.multiversitycomics.com).
So far it has been really successful, with a good amount of mainstream comic buzz and a lot of great interviews coming our way. We're currently putting together a project everyone may be interested in though, as over this week and the next we are highlighting the best in comics over the past decade. If you're interested in comics or looking to get into them, this would be a great place to check out.
The categories we're looking at and when we are posting them are:
Monday, November 30th: Best Comic Book Movies (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/11/best-of-decade-comic-book-movies.html)
Tuesday, December 1st: Best Villains (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best.html)
Wednesday, December 2nd: Best Heroes (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_02.html)
Thursday, December 3rd: Best Event Comics (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_03.html)
Friday, December 4th: Best Issues (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_04.html)
Saturday, December 5th: Best Publisher - DC vs. Marvel (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/saturday-showdown-dc-vs-marvel-for.html)
Monday, December 7th: Best Original Graphic Novel (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_07.html)
Tuesday, December 8th: Best Mini-Series (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_08.html)
Wednesday, December 9th: Best Artist (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_09.html)
Thursday, December 10th: Best Writer (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_10.html)
Friday, December 11th: Best Ongoing Series (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2009/12/decade-according-to-multiversity-best_7482.html)
Check back regularly as well. We update multiple times a day and have regular interviews on Monday, Small Press Spotlight on Tuesday, a look at the week in releases on Wednesday, weekly reviews on Thursday, comic recommendations and a look at comic movie news on Friday, Saturday Showdown (where multiple writers have point/counterpoint discussions), and Sunday brings us Multiversity 101, in which I take a look at the industry as a whole.
A LOT of content. Don't miss out!

I'm surprised so many of you like Spiderman 2. And surprised your mouths aren't green from blowing Green Lantern so much.

Ha. Well, it turns out Green Lantern is a great book and has spent the last half of the decade being written by Geoff Johns, one of the best writers in the industry. It's really hard to deny it as a quality example of superhero comics.
As for Spider-Man 2, it's a very good comic movie. I'm not actually a huge fan of comic movies. I think that the Nolan Batman movies are absolutely exceptional and Iron Man was a damn good popcorn flick, but for the most part they do not really do a whole lot besides provide me occasional fanboy joy and rarely escape the level of "fluff."

Fair enough.
I enjoyed the Event section the most, I'm going to try to read most of them, so I thank you, and your team, for that.

No problem. We are presenting the categories from least important to most important. Next week will be far more interesting to you, I'd wager.

Yeah, I'm most excited for that as well. That's pretty much my category because I'm the resident OGN guy.
This is really cool.
Thanks! Appreciated :-)

Glad to see Iron Man at 2 (would be my number 1 along with Sin City), but Spiderman 2 is bullshit.

I'm glad Cyclops is getting some respect as the new badass boyscout he is. I love that early Astonishing issue when he tears apart the busted Sentinel that crawled onto his "lawn." And when he busts out of captivity on the spaceship with his hidden power - awesome.
But I can't read anything about Yorick Brown because I haven't finished reading Y yet.

I just hope X-Factor gets some love somewhere. I can't be the only one that loves that book, can I?

Updated with the Saturday Showdown to decide who the best publisher of the past decade was, along with the Best Original Graphic Novel category. Make sure to check it out.

As much as I love X-Factor, it was hard to fit it into any of the categories. I got some Jaime Madrox and Layla Miller love into the Best Heroes category, but it's not destined to make it my friend.

Nice blog, and I agree with a lot of the stuff. But WAY too much Green Lantern. I just don't find him in any way interesting. But hey, that's me.

Yeah, GL ended up getting a crazy amount of rep on our list. I don't necessarily agree with some of it, but in terms of events Sinestro Corps War was without a doubt the best option. When you have four writers though and the GL stuff is pretty much the apex of superhero writing for the past decade, it's hard to get away from.

Sigh. I'll have to live with that then.

Oh, great blog by the way.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I really wanted to find a way to get X-Factor on there, but there are just so damn many great titles. I wish I had gotten Madrox on the best mini list though. That's a great title as well.

I agree. Too many great titles is a nice problem to have though.
I wish you had too haha. I love all things Madrox. I'm always furious when some writer thinks it's a good idea to make him a villain. Like in X-3. I was ready to give Zak Snyder and Brent Ratner some matching mushroom stamps.
Objectively speaking, he's probably not one of the absolute great characters, but he's definitely one of the most underrated.
Subjectively, he's the best character in any form of media ever.
I could seriously talk about how underrated and great of a character Madrox is for days. But I'll stop now haha.

Touche.
Nice blog, and I agree with a lot of the stuff. But WAY too much Green Lantern. I just don't find him in any way interesting. But hey, that's me.I can understand that totally. But I can't think of another hero that has gone through as much growth as he has in the past decade. Cyclops is close, I'll admit. And you could possibly argue Spider-Man, but his whole continuity was hamstrung after One More Day.
I'm curious though, did you ever read Green Lantern: Rebirth?

I'm not a comic book reader, but holy crap Y: The Last Man was so good. I'm glad my comic book enthusiast friend basically forced it on me, and glad to see it getting some love here.
