This is random, but what does "fouls to give" mean? I heard it thrown around in the game tonight and I couldn't figure out what the term means.

if a team wants to slow the game down by sending the other team to the line, they need a certain amount of fouls to have that happen automatically.

it means how many fouls a team can commit before the opposing team gets to shoot free throws

In the NBA, team has four personal fouls a period that they are allowed to commit before the other team is given free throws regardless if it was a shooting foul or not.

If you haven't used them all by 2:00 minutes, then you only have one left for the rest of the period.

In overtime it's three fouls instead of four.

the only thing mildly redeeming about the season is that we've got the #3 PG and #4 and #7 SG's committed for next year. So that'll help. but does nothing for me this season.

although, scout.com has us rated with the 12th best class for this upcoming season. How, i don't know. We've got 3 recruits, Tom Herzog the 9th best C (who i think will probably be the starting Center), the 11th and 13th best SF. which really help out problems at the SG position since shannon brown left and at the PF position since i don't think Matt Trannon is playing because he want's to concentrate on football and the NFL Draft next year. so basically we're half as good as our disappointing team from last season.

Yeah, I was never a big Wings guy, the Lions suck (eternally), and for most of my college teams I still follow the Texas schools. So I can only say I am a true fan for the Pistons and Tigers.

Texas and Texas Tech should blow this year. Bob Knight will be lucky to get the record this year, even though he only needs a handful more wins. KU is looking like the only solid team in the Big 12.
