Lately, we've been getting more news submissions from smaller/unsigned/local bands than usual. Unfortunately, we can't possibly help out every band, so if you're in a band and want some exposure, or a music lover and want to find some new bands, head to our Self-Promotion (http://www.absolutepunk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=5) forum! We'll be plugging this forum as much as possible.

just curious, then why do you post about bands like lola ray and the format (both unsigned)? i mean, where do you draw the line?

This was discussed heavily last night, in our General Forum. There is no clear line really, we try to help out as many smaller bands as possible, but it's hard to do that and maintain the integrity of the news column. By definition, "news" has to be something that people take interest in. Before I post a news item, I say to myself, "Well, if I were a visitor and I saw this post, would I care about this or find it interesting?"... that's really what it comes down to.

then in the interest of the readers, there should definately be posts about frank and drew every day.

then in the interest of the readers, there should definately be posts about frank and drew every day. The relationship between two people who work on a well devoloped website is heating up. Frank Giaramita declined to comment on the rumors but we did manage to get this out of album reviewer Drew, "I will admit, I do like Frank. However, I am more into Gabe." Didn't you read the NY times today?

Yeah hi.
We're one of "those bands".
Take a look at our fabulous self-promoting thread:

it will do you some good. And honestly, if you don't like the music you must admit I made the little profile look pretty dope for a forum post.

Peace!

That forum is such a good idea but it seems that noone looks at it.

Maybe it needs to take more of a prominent place in the forum... whenever I've gone on you have to scroll right down... or maybe I remember wrong haha.

But yeah.. people should check it out more often... there are tons of bands out there who could be as big as TBS / MCR / FOB etc one day but people don't check out unsigned music enough, they just wait for it to be thrown at them on the TV.

Everyone should check it out

and my band.... 3GunPete ;) myspace.com/3GunPete... what? I couldn't write a message about the unsigned bands forum without plugging a little :)
