diffrences between emo in germany and america

it's so strange that what emo is in germany is in america just some kind of punkrock/alternative stuff...
here are so less (?) people that even know what emo is....
i don't know what to think about that... it confuses me:wacko:

Germany has a nice scene. I think that in America, it's a big trend right now to be, in your words, "punkrock/alternative" (well "indie" ) , and people take that kind of music as Emo. The mass media does that, lazyness I guess.

That's because the term 'emo' was perverted here by record labels and the media trying to hype/sell a new style of music to the melancholic youth. Germany's emo scene is fucking tight, you guys are really lucky. Nova distro rocks too, I highly suggest everyone checks it out. You can find some awesome rare shit in German distros!

i don't know, by now it's becoming a trend in germany also.... and that's so fucking strange, because almost 3 people at my school (and we're the second biggest in bavaria!) know what emo "is" but almost the whole school wears vans and trys to look like "the cool underground guys that played in our youth club"....
that sucks so bad... the only thing i want to do when i see them is hit them.... i kn ow i'm a bit violent, but whatever...
