kazaa, according to current laws, isnt illegal.
napster was illegal because it recorded and linked all the downloads and users to one central computer. that means, they were responsible for all "stealing" of songs, or at least were accesories.
kazaa isnt illegal because it is only software. if sharman (company that made kazaa) goes offline, the only thing broken and not functioning with Kazaa is the toolbar "Web" and "Shop". kazaa does not link your downloads to a central computer, it is a literal "peer-to-peer" file sharer.
the most sharman can be held accountable for is 1 download of Kazaa, cause after one download occurs, the rest of the users download from that first user.
