Old Pride is one of the years best and probably (unfortunately) one of the most overlooked albums of 2009.
absolutely fantastic band, have been following them for a few years now, Saltwater and this album are favorites of mine.

Is anyone counting Old Pride on their end of the year lists? I know it was technically released in 2009, but it had a wider release on January 12th, 2010. I'm not sure if I should put it on my list or not.
"The band is currently in the pre production stages and are planning for a fall 2011 release. Topshelf Records released Pianos Become The Teeths' critically acclaimed Old Pride in 2010 and re-released the bands split EP with The Saddest Landscape earlier this year.
The band has described the new album as "a progression from Old Pride, it's a personal album for all of us in many different ways" and the lyrics as "emotional, reminiscent, cohesive, sad, bitter, and heavy hearted." Having toured the United States twice, gone to Europe, and had appearances at Fest 9 and Krazy Fest in support of Old Pride, Pianos has promised more touring including another European, Full US, and an appearance at Fest 10 in support of the new album. Excited for it. Old Pride is such a solid record. "Filial" is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. It gives me shivers and the whole tone is just unbelievable.

Was just about to post this for anyone who didn't hear it yet.
Can't wait for The Lack Long After. This is just an opinion, but Pianos currently has to be one of the best screamo bands.

Yeah "Liquid Courage" is painfully emotional - I love how distanced he sounds in it. I have to say, I think "I'll Get By" is the most heartbreaking - the end when his mom speaks tears me apart.

Gave it my first listen with out the lyrics and it's absolutely incredible. No song hit me as hard as The Houses We Die In or Cripples Can't Shiver but that would be like being mad at TBS for never writing a song as good as Cute Without The E...it's probably not possible.
Can't wait to read the lyrics for it while listening, definitly holding off until they get posted somewhere.

Probably the same people who came up with term "skramz".
Also, to those of you looking for the lyrics, in the general discussions board, there's a thread called Pianos Become The Teeth-The Lack Long After, and I believe it's page 8 that someone typed the lyrics up on. The only place I've seen all the lyrics on the internet.

Are you referring to the bands themselves creating the term "wave" or "skramz"? Because several "skramz" bands I know of don't like the term. Like ...Who Calls So Loud, and IWroteHaikusAboutCannibalismInYourY earbook, etc.

the bands came up with wave. that dude from Fight Fair/Seeing Means More came up with skramz. wave is stupid and i only use skramz to differentiate between shitty scene poop and good screamo.

wave.
Ah. Well, either way, I didn't literally think the same person came up with both terms. But now I know who made both. I learned something today.

I assume since they put up orders for the second pressing while the album was still not released, that they will be backed up a bit more than the first press.

Heard of them today and I'm already hooked. Never thought I was going to appreciate Screamo (the real one) as I do know.
PBTT are probs my favorite wave band... as annoying as those fans are
there's lotsa much better screamo in general though nowadays
