part 3 of "best serious movie by a comedic actor" series.
i'm aware that he's been in serious roles not listed here, but to narrow it down, the criteria for this poll was that the movie had to have at least a rating of 7.0 on IMDb.

Good Will Hunting, easily.

Dead Poets Society. Awakenings is so under-appreciated, though I think Robert De Niro's performance outshines Robin Williams'.

Good Will Hunting, easily.
i actually hesitated a bit trying to decide between this and dead poets society. i feel like matt damon sort of steals it, so i went with the latter.

i wanted to narrow down the choices a bit, so the criteria used for this poll was that the movies had to have at least a rating of a 7.0 on imdb. what dreams may come got 6.6.

a shame. love that movie, but i understand why it didn't make it.
i'm not a fan of any of these movies/haven't seen them, so i'm not gonna vote. good choice on actor though.

i already explained earlier in this thread that this is about his serious roles in movies that have at least a 7.0 rating on imdb. sorry to burst your bubble.

I haven't seen all of them. He was creepy as hell in One Hour Photo though. Jack was pretty amazing as well. I'm surprised Patch Adams wasn't here. Is that considered a comedy?

You mean you liked the movie or Robin Williams' performance most? Cuz the poll isn't necessarily which movie you liked most.

That's the way I read it. It says "The Best Serious Movie by a Comedic Actor" in the first post. It doesn't ask for the best performance, but the best movie.

GWH followed closely by Insomnia.
Good Morning Vietnam is also up there, though. It's funny, but kind of serious, ultimately...I wonder why it's not on here.

A lot of these are good (better than his comedy work, for sure), but I think One Hour Photo is my favorite. His performance is perfectly eerie.

Not a fan of his comedy but when he does serious roles I love em' and this movie was just creepy but I enjoyed it.
