Im a huge sports fan, i love all my teams, but my heart holds dearer to the Houston Astros. I have mulitple jerseys, caps, memerobilia, and try to make it to at least 10 games a year (although i live 2 hours away).
Is anybody else like me? what kinda crap do you do to show love for you team?

i had a second job that i absolutely loved where i only worked sundays.

last season i quit it the week before the nfl season because i had a feeling the steelers season was gonna be special and i wasn't going to let myself miss a game.

my life revolves around steeler football. there's a tattoo on my inner arm to show it.

I had season Met tickets up until two years ago (prices went up) but I still go alot because myuncle can't make every game. I own jerseys, hats, posters, etc. I'm more of a Mets fan than any other of my teams. My favorites in order would probably be Mets, Rangers, Notre Dame (football/basketball), Giants, Nets, Knicks. I love all sports equally though, so I don't really care what sport it is. As long as sports is on television, I watch. Also, the most underrated sport in the US is Lacrosse. More people should watch it. They show alot of MLL games on ESPN2.

I would kill to see a KU game...in fact, I may just have to. Aside from KU basketball though...I'd say the Bulls are the only team I really have a vested interest in, maybe vaguely the Steelers

Um, I have 2 KU warm-up jerseys...and I may buy a Hinrich KU jersey as well. I have 2 coffee mugs, my mouse pad, my computer background (during season), a "KU Fan Parking Only" sign, a Kirk Hinrich poster, and some miscallaneous Hinrich/KU stuff

i'm obsessed with my school's (BC) basketball and football teams, the Sox and the Patriots.

I enjoy the Celtics and Bruins but they've both been so bad for the majority of my life that it's hard to get excited for each and every game.

bigmike
06/21/06, 04:31 PM
um, i've watched basically every Lions game since I can remember and I watch more than 100 (a few in person, most on TV) Tigers games every year.

I'm also a big Michigan State fan so I get to watch the MSU Hockey team suck since Ron Mason retired (minus the run they made at the end of the year this year), the Men's Basketball team have to rebuild, which will make me long for the biggest pussy to ever be a Center, Paul Davis, as we'll be replacing him with a shittier, less talented version of him, and our Football team can only beat Notre Dame and no one else. But only if we're playing in ND. I mean, 2 years ago we lost at fucking Rutgers. AT FUCKING RUTGERS, when they were close to being dropped by the Big East Conference.

I think that pretty much makes my case.

(i'm also a red wings and pistons fans because that's the only way i keep from killing myself).

I'm from Philly...I think that says enough about passion for my teams. I went to Jacksonville when the Eagles went to the super bowl. I'd see my teams whenever they came down to fl (went to school there), now I am finally back in the loop at home =).

How big of a sports fan am I?...my sister goes to temple, but I sat in my own seat with the Villanova fans instead of sitting with my family at the Palestra last year.

Miami Hurricanes are my most hated college. the arrogance of every football player that makes me wish they'd all break their legs. i hate them more than the Michigan Wolverines, and that's pretty bad.

well that is more of the miami of old (early 90's). they are not as arrogant as they used to be. and i dont mind what they do in the pros. they do have some idiots in the pros, but at UM there wasnt a problem. they have cleaned up their image a lot, but i know they get a lot of hate. i guess ND is my most hated team.

i was a huge kings fan growing up. just yesterday i came back from my second year of college and threw most of it out. we bought a new house, and i can't set up the 'wall' i had which ranged from tickets (from back in 1995), old team cards (brian grant! billy owens! tyus edney! mitch richmond!), and anything kings i collected (pepsi cans with the logo).

I was a huge fan, but once they got big and the city embraced them, it became harder to go to games. That, along with being too far away to consistently watched games led to a decline in my interest.

The team I now root for the most is probably the giants. But in general, I just follow sports more than root for a team.

And I had a BoSox cap from....uhm....6 years ago? They are my second fav. team.

you've made this easy for me: not nearly as big of one as you. i love football, i love the buckeyes, and i love the steelers. i own buckeyes and steelers gear, and i go to the regular season games while i'm at school every year for the buckeyes (i also went to the texas game last year, sigh). i've never been to a steelers game, regrettably. i hope that changes in the next couple years. it's not because i don't want to go, it's because the tickets are so damn hard to get.

Diehard Jets fan. I've worn a Wayne Chrebet jersey every Sunday during football season for the last ten years. I have a Vinnie jersey as well, but it rarely comes out. I have posters, autographs, footballs and all sorts of random merch around my room. I actually have empty boxes of Chrebet Crunch (think Flutie Flakes except as Cheerios with Wayne Chrebet) decorating my room.

The Mets are pretty much even with the Jets right now, but when football season comes around and baseball is done, I know I won't be saying that.

I have half-season tickets to Rutgers football, and also go to a decent amount of basketball games. I'm wearing an RU basketball shirt at the moment.

Big fan of the Rangers, Knicks and Notre Dame as well, although I'm currently on a Knicks boycott. I wear a Mets, Jets or Rangers hat depending upon my mood for the day.

it is really a great trophy. They had it here at the local hockey rink after the Stars won the cup in 1999 I think it was. Ken Hitchcock used to coach the Kalamazoo Wings here in town (their rink is literally like 4 minutes away from my house) and he brought it back and you could go and get your picture with it and meet Ken Hitchcock and such. A huge fucking line though. I think i waited something like 3 hours before I got to see it. It would have been nice had someone like Jamie Langenbrunner come back with Hitchcock and the cup since he played here as well, but whatever. Langenbrunner's a big prick, or at least he was when he played here.

it's really cool to just go and read the names on it. I saw it when i went to Toronto when I stopped by the Hockey Hall of Fame where I had more time to look and read all the names. I've watched every New England Patriots and Indiana Pacers game in the past...I don't know...10 years, excluding the Halloween game 2 years ago that the Patriots lost to the Steelers on (Never again will I miss a game). Most of the time I'm wearing either my Patriots sweatshirt or my Reggie Miller/Rik Smits jerseys during the game. I don't have a lot of memorabilia, besides a Reggie Miller signed ball, Jermaine O'Neal signed ball (got it signed myself thank you very much), and a Travis Best signed hat (along with a Mark Aguirre signature, he was an assistant a few years ago). Pats stuff, I have a Bledsoe and a Brady jersey and I actually bought a Tom Tupa jersey card in support of my favorite punter (at least during his Pats years, even though it's a Jets card). Various pennants and posters and what not too.I'm pretty intense when it comes to watching, if people basically say anything about the game I assume they are jinxing my team and yell at them. I've been told I'm impossible to watch sports with because I turn into a huge dick.

I have a lot more Seattle Mariners memorabilia, but for some reason I never get the same "talk to me and die" thing going on with them. I think it's because everything in a basketball or football game feels like it is of incredible importance, while baseball there's always a feeling of "we'll get them next time." Two of my favorite sporting experiences though was a) going to the All Star game in Seattle, the whole fanfest experience and meeting Harold Reynolds (nicest guy ever), and watching Ichiro play his first All Star game, having I think 7 M's on the team, Freddy Garcia getting the win and Kaz Sasaki getting the win, and b) the M's winning on Edgar's glorious double down the line against the Yankees in game 5 of the ALDS with the whole team dogpiling on Junior at homeplate - A-Rod leading the way. But I can't afford to buy LOTS of shit and go to LOTS of games. Either way, I'm always watching the games on TV and keeping up to date on all of my favorite teams at any point in the season. Some fans really piss me off when they only get into things at the end of the season, and especially when their team wins something. That's not the way to show support. You gotta stick by your team through the good AND the bad.

before i got my new cherokee i had an old chrysler cirrus (never heard of it either), but i tattoed the bitch with astros stuff (stickers, antena flags, window flags, ect.) i named it the strosmoblie. it was fun during their two deep playoff runs the last 2 years.
