Bars, Blues, Cancer Bats, Coalesce, Doomriders, Electric Wizard, A Girl A Gun A Ghost, Karysun, Kathleen Turner Overdrive, Lord by Fire, Lords, Outcry Collective, Sweet Cobra, The Ghost of a Thousand, The Gorgeous, Twelve Gauge Valentine, Zozobra
those might possibly whet the appetite for what I'd describe as bluesy sludgy metal hardcore punk whatever
I love that kind of crap

ETID and He Is Legend are both amongst my favorite bands. I really like Maylene's first album, about half of their second one, and haven't heard much of the latest.
I actually liked Fight Paris, but only because it's awesome to have raunchy sex to.

Loved the first Maylene record, and I actually really liked the second one a lot too. I was really curious to see where they could even go beyond those though, since you can only do so many things with the sound that they have. I didn't wind up liking III at all. It just doesn't get better than "Caution, Dangerous Curves Ahead". I know there were many other great songs on those first two records, but I just love that it's literally breakdown after breakdown after breakdown hahah.

Actually, they are southern. Their "Ugly/Heartless" album is really, really southern and deeply influenced in blues.

Yeah, I have that album. I'm sure a lot of great bands are influenced by The Beatles but that doesn't mean they're gonna sound like them. Sorry man, The Jonbenet sounds nothing like a "southern/metal" band like these mentioned. :(

they aren't really metal but i would put them under Southern Rock, Tyler Read are pretty killer, they have a new ep that has a lot of bluesy southern riffs

big fan of some of He Is Legend's stuff though, they have some pretty catchy songs while still remaining pretty heavy at the same time. really cool stuff.

they have an outstanding catalogue. one of the few bands that managed to never put out a bad album. plus, dime was such a phenominal guitarist.
