Well, they came to Ohio itself twice last tour...just not Cleveland...which is like really northeastern Ohio...as opposed to the two other dates which were both over four hours away.
So when they come to Ohio they don't come near Cleveland, so then their Ohio quota is probably filled so that's why I'm guessing there isn't a Cleveland date!

They're even from Dayton, Ohio! It's weird they skip their own state.
First off, props to Prada for blowing off Australia for this haha (drunk sarcasm or seriousness, I can't tell myself).
Second, what's with Prada touring with more mainstream metalcore bands (first All That Remains, now Killswitch)
As to your original post, I'm not aware of Dayton having any big venues. Their home shows are in Kettering if I remember at the Attic, which has a capacity of around 700 (my friends band played there, you could easily fit in a 1000 kids). However, that size for a venue probably wouldn't be big enough for Killswitch Engages. Maybe for the draw, but I'm sure KsE has a pretty high guarantee. Prada's guarantee for their last headling show at the Attic was $15k according to the owner at the venue (consider the venue capacity and that's a lot. mix in their merch sales and they probably made 20k on one show, not bad for a band whose entire fan base is mainly 15-16 year olds with no jobs)

I highly doubt they're co-headlining, but they'll play a longer set.
Look at the Attic Tour for a recent example. Finch headlined, but Blessthefall was playing 40-45 minutes sets each night. Same with Prada and Maylene & the Sons of Disaster back in 2008. They'll play a longer set but it's KsE Headliner

Considering you think KSE has garbage vocals while thinking the other two doesn't, that is just fucking hilarious. Mike Hranica is a terrible screamer, Jeremy DePoyster sound terribly out of tune live, and Mikael Stanne sounds just like every other Swedish melo-death vocalist. So by your logic, you should just skip the show, considering your great disdain for terrible vocals.

I was really stoked on their last tour, they really owed us big time after that A Skylit Drive/Sky Eats Airplane/Greeley Estates (who I dont mind) mess in 08.
I've only seen them once at Warped Tour a couple of years ago, they were great live. They don't come here to St. Louis very often so anytime they come through, I make an attempt to go, often times it falls through.

I don't like how Dark Tranquillity is getting zero recognition on this tour. DT is a very influential band with nine studio albums over the course of almost two decades. They're also a fantastic band, too. I hope more people get into them and appreciate them on this tour. It's almost degrading having them open before TDWP.

I'm going to the Cleveland show on Feb. 13th. I asked Mike from TDWP on Twitter how long their set would be, and he said 40 minutes, so I'm guessing that's enough for about 10 songs? Also, according to their Twitter, it seems like they're going to play "Ben Has a Kid" for the first time.
I bought a KsE album, The End of Heartache, in order to acquaint myself with them before I see them. I'm not familiar with Dark Tranquility at all, but from doing a bit of reading about them, I'm surprised that they would agree to open for two bands that are much younger than them, considering they've been around for so long.

Prada is one of my favorite bands live. Mikes vocals vary show to show. Ive seen shows where he sounded kinda sketchy and ones where he sounded awesome. Honestly I think their sound guy is an idiot and his vocals are just never loud enough, its been bothering me a long time. Jeremy is awful live, end of story, but it really doesnt detract much because everyone sings along to that shit. But they bring a lot of energy and are passionate performers and i think thats why most people like them, plus theyre just downright heavy live.

I have seen The Devil Wears Prada once before, and they had a ton of energy. Mike (the lead singer) was all over the place on stage. Unfortunately, I could barely hear Jeremy's clean vocals. Overall, though, they had a lot of passion in their performance. I know a lot of people don't like their music, but I really got the impression they left everything on stage. Probably one of the best live shows I've seen, although I admittedly haven't been to a ton of concerts.
Other than that, though, I don't know how Killswitch Engage and Dark Tranquility are live, so I would be interested to hear if other people have seen them before.

It's really annoying when the people who are hardcore dancing kick and hit the people standing around them, so I hope that there won't be as much of that going on at this show. I've never really understood hardcore dancing at all. But, unfortunately, I'm sure there will still be a bunch of people doing it.
If anyone has ever been to a KsE show before, what can be expected from the metal crowd? I'm assuming it will be (on average) older than the crowd that TDWP will draw. Are the metal fans more violent, or is that just a stereotype?

Hardcore dancing = moshing for pussies. I hate how these kids think they're tough. They look anorexic and could be snapped in half with ease. Most of them have never even been in a real fight, and the ones that have either lost, or were fighting even more of a pussy than them. To make a long story short, it's an alternative to being homosexual.

That's actually a pretty good set, IMO. They're supposed to play Ben Has a Kid rather than I Hate Buffering, though, according to the vote they had on their Twitter. And yeah, I'm surprised they didn't play anything from Dear Love...I thought Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over was a staple for them. But other than that, sounds like a pretty sweet set.

Killswitch did not get to play in Orlando tonight because apparently, after waiting for an hour, they announced that Howard Jones had thrown his back out to the point where he had to go to the hospital. They are playing tomorrow (2/9) at an earlier time for people that come back out.
Not his fault, but it is a bummer for people who drove a long way to see them. Hoping that TicketMaster refunds me and other people that drove a long distance.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that due to the fuck-up, the rest of the band came out to talk to fans. I didn't though considering that I had to get home.

I'm concerned about snow messing with the show on Saturday in Cleveland. I think the worst of it will be past us by that time (we got dumped on a little more today), so hopefully all the bands will be able to make it and my drive up there won't be too bad. As per KsE's Facebook page:
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE vocalist Howard Jones is leaving the band’s current headlining tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquility due to unforeseen circumstances. All That Remains vocalist Phil Labonte will be filling in for Jones for a few shows in the interim, until the KsE guys can determine what the plan will ...be for the remaining tour dates, which are currently scheduled to run through the end of March.

Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over
Danger: Wildman
Don't Dink and Drance

Dark Tranquility played a pretty tight set musically. I'll admit I didn't really like their vocalist's screaming style. They definitely seemed to be the most "metal" of the three bands. The Killswitch Engage set was pretty good, although by that point I was tired. lol I've never seen the band perform with Howard Jones, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I thought Phil Labonte did a pretty good job filling in as the vocalist. Adam D. is pretty hilarious.
