i think to a certain extent slipknot is good. i don't know about anyone else but i started out with slipknot. they got me listening to heavier and heavier music. I don't much care for them NOW as much as i did, but i still revere them as incredible for laying down the path for MANY metal bands that cite slipknot as their greatest infulence (like suicide silence!) they were once incredible, but im getting a bit tired of their sound. if they were to release a new album (which i have NO idea if they are anymore) I would still buy it and listen to it alot.

Slipknot is great. I love how all the members have their shit together and do it for fun pretty much. Jim Root intrigues me more than any guitarist playing metal. He plays a Tele with EMG's and is all about The Beatles and Clapton.
