The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

1. How did you get your band name?
In the first few months of the bands existence we had tossed around
multiple names, some just didn’t click, others were too long. We
wanted to go with something short and to the point with reference to
chaos or turmoil; “How Tragic” ultimately won our hearts.
2. How did this band get started?
All of us played in fairly prominent local bands that had fallen
through. We all had known each other in some way, weather it was
though friends or playing shows together. We recruited guys we knew
would be solid and trustworthy and thus far it has proven itself true.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
Damn, what bands aren’t we influenced by should be the question. But
the old Norma Jean stuff (if you weren’t into that 6 years ago you
must have been under a rock) and The Chariot are obvious answers if
you’ve heard us, MeWithoutYou, Botch, HHLL, some of us are into a very
under-rated DC band called Fairweather(RIP), though not necessarily
apparent in our sound, they are an inspiration.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
Every Time I Die because they like to party and we like to party, how
about Dillinger in the early days??? That’s a good one.
5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
Roadkill, because that’s what feeds bands on tour. (a little
information you might not have known courtesy of How Tragic)
6. Why should people listen to your band?
People should listen to more bands they don’t know and don’t have 20
million plays a day. I mean most of the stuff out there just sounds
the same to us. We strive to be different, granted you can definitely
hear influences, but we try to do unique things and you will hear a
lot more experimental things on the full-length.
7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would
you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star
on expert?
It would probably be "Fresh from the Gallows", it hasn’t been released
yet but it has some pretty crafty guitar stuff in it. Really, any song
is hard on expert.
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
Satan… We sold our souls for rock and roll.
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
Changes?
Maybe we could cut down on the “over produced” shit and the endless
amounts of Scott Stapps’ on the radio. Is it just us or does every
song on the radio sound the same with some whack ass lyrics about
crazy sex or bragging about your over the top drug use? Can you not be
a little more creative?
10. Memorable tour experience?
Ummm… Totaling our ride.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
It’s a good place to get familiar with up and coming artists. Free
downloads and promotions really help small bands like us, and it is
greatly appreciated.
12. What is your favorite song to play?
Old, New, Buried, Blue (But Breathing)… once again its not released
yet but you will know why its our favorite when you hear it.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
Anywhere but our jobs.
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
GnR, Skid Rowe, or the easy listening shit our moms listened to.
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Teleporting, then we can’t wreck on tour. There could be some
malfunction in another realm that could throw us off but we won’t be
out of a ride…
16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
Na, we are doing what we do and love it, whether it brings us millions
or just enough to pay our bills, “making it” is still irrelevant to
the reasons we started this band.
17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
Jay is straight edge, and the rest of us….. well, not quite as strong willed.
18. What's your favorite holiday?
the ones you get off work for
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
We hang out a lot as friends, its not like we only see each other at
practice or shows. We have a Taco Tuesday’s ritual at Don Pablo’s and
party together all the time.
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
Brandon can draw and paint, Tom is an amazing drum tech, Mike trains
monkeys (no joke), Jay has the strongest will-power of anyone we’ve
ever met, and Jerrit is awesome with computers.
