Damn, that's not a bad soundtrack at all. Probably one of the better ones in recent years. I like how EA is so into the indie music and "scene" shit. Minus the hip-hop (and last year's old remixed NFL classics instrumentals), I am excited for it. Oh, and Shaun Alexander's on the cover and he's the Stormin Mormon - and he is a gangsta 'Hawk.

yeah i understand how some of the songs dont' fit with the whole football thing and people are just saying this is an awesome soundtrack cus they like the songs on it. we'll just see if it works with the game when it comes out. i think had for the hills would fit cus its such a good rocker. also anything off the new underoath is definitely energetic (minus the slower songs which are just brilliant)

I think they should pick music that fits the sport more - if I'm playing football I want pump up music. Fight Night Round 3 has the best music, or at least the most fitting. Something about listening to Obie Trice and Atmosphere in a boxing game that just makes sense.

I totally agree with you I dig the new Saves the Day but for the most part Hiop Hop works better for games atleast during the game play. Funny thing is I rarely listen to rap other than when playing the games.

If you havent listened to the preview of it yet, the new Dashboard CD has alot of electric songs, compared to their older acoustic stuff. Think more a "Vindicated" pace when you see that song on the soundtrack. Its not THAT bad.

But seriously, replace techno with anything. Rap used to be the "underground scene" and now look at it. To some people a couple years ago, liking a band like underoath was like the definition of being the dude who listened to all the obscure music for all the scene kids. And now you can pick up a Madden NFL game and they are on there. It goes to show how this is all a fad, strange as it seems...the bands we like are going to get old and fade away like the beatles, rolling stones, etc. obviously. I wonder if the generation before ever had such a revelation, or if they figured their musical tastes would stick around forever, similar to how I figure I'll be jamming to some Underoath or The Number Twelve Looks Like You when I'm 50...

basically it comes down to if you want arcady football, go with madden. the 2k series is suppose to be more about realism, thus making it harder, turning off many people. ultimately, madden fans are generally less talented in the art of videogames compared the average 2k player. ;)
