I found a couple threads on this band, but thought I'd make it official and get their name out some more. Forming in 2000, this artistic duo of experimental sound collage artists garnered significant praise for their debut gem Thought For Food, and managed to offer a worthy followup in The Lemon of Pink. They blend their trippy acoustic guitars with obscure recordings featuring everything from strange buzzes and scratches to thought-provoking dialogue. Lost and Safe was decent, though a mildly disappointing departure for the band. They are set to release a fourth LP in 2010 centering around the idea of hypnotherapy and self-help cassettes. Listen and learn.

Edit: Also, their website is trippy (http://thebooksmusic.com/).

Never been huge on this band, but yeah, they're pretty solid.

The most well-regarded, The Lemon of Pink. S is for Evrysing is a standout track.

'S is for Evrysing' is great, though I'd probably say the opener is my favourite on the album.

I always thought Thought For Food recieved more praise, which is my favourite of theirs. Not that it really matters, as both albums are generally considered great.

A culture is no better than its woods:
A feeling of being connected with the past.
Look at it this way: you may fall and break your leg,
And so one leg is shorter than the other.
Can nothing more be done?

The opening track on Thought For Food scared the shit out of me the first time I listened. A little too obscure for me.

The new album absolutely blew me away. It is a very meticulously crafted album with great sampling. I look foward to further digesting the sound with repeated listens.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the sampling surely is quite impressive.

Yep. Still stand by the scared shitless part, but I'm going to see them in October. Should be interesting.

Yep. Made me decide to listen to it more after somewhat dismissing it as sloppy.

The Way Out has really grown on me. Right now I'd have to say it's their second best release (Thought for Food being my favourite).
